It's National Volunteer Week and we want to introduce you to some of our amazing volunteers!
Sport doesn't run itself, and every volunteer helps to ease the burden on their sport's community.
To make fencing accessible every week in Southern Tasmania, we have volunteers running sessions, setting up and packing down equipment, transporting gear, promoting fencing online, fixing equipment, taking photos, coaching fencers, running clubs and the TFA, and spending a lot of time on the fencing community, on top of their work and family commitments.
We appreciate each and every one of our volunteers, and we encourage anybody not already volunteering to reach out to us to see what they can do to lend a hand!
Volunteering doesn't need to be a huge time commitment, and we promise we won't ask you to do something you haven't received training in.
You might offer to help place masking tape in lines of 14 m and 1.5 m in a venue on the morning of a tournament, or you might prefer to re-stitch the velcro on a glove or take photos to help us promote fencing on our socials.
You may offer to spend thirty minutes once a term, or a couple of hours each week. It is entirely up to you, and we will appreciate every second of your time!
Please note, any volunteers not included either haven't approved their ASC Volunteer Map nomination, or we didn't have high res images of them. It's not too late to contact President Avery Holderness-Roddam (text 0428 057 473) and send through an image or two so we can celebrate you!
