Mark Van den Boogaart returns on June 2 — this time in the collector’s seat!

Mark van den Boogaart has been involved in hunting, shooting and collecting for several decades, with a strong passion for historical fi****ms, swords and militaria.

As a collector, Mark is particularly drawn to “working pieces” — items that have been carried and used in everyday life. His focus is on uncovering the history behind each piece, including who made it, who owned it, and the story of why it existed.

His current collection includes swords and C**t fi****ms, with a research-driven approach where he studies each item in detail before moving it on to explore new pieces. For Mark, collecting is about discovery, understanding history, and following the clues that connect objects to people and time.

Mark continues to contribute to the fi****ms and collecting community through writing and commentary, including work with Australian Shooter and Australian & New Zealand Handgunner, as well as broader engagement in hunting and shooting culture.

From pig hunting and mountain hunts through to his more recent passion for fallow deer, Robert places strong emphasis on preparation, firearm proficiency, ethical hunting, and respect for the outdoors. He also maintains a keen interest in the history and craftsmanship behind older fi****ms and military arms.⁠

🏆 A huge weekend of Big Game Rifle action is coming to Emmaville at the end of the month! 🏆

From 29–31 May 2026, competitors from across the state will head to SSAA (NSW) Glen Innes Branch for the 2026 NSW Big Game Rifle State Titles.

The weekend will feature a full program of rifle events across multiple classes, practice shooting, camping, and a fantastic atmosphere for competitors and spectators alike.

🔹 Practice & camp set up on Friday.
🔹 Full weekend of rifle competition.
🔹 Championship medals & event awards.
🔹 Camping, showers & clubhouse facilities available onsite.

🎤 On 21st May, join guest speaker Carly Parker for our Hunting and Collecting Meeting Series. Carly is a law abiding firearm owner who has been involved in hunting and shooting since obtaining her fi****ms licence in 2021 for our Hunting and Collecting Meeting Series.⁠
⁠
Carly was introduced to hunting through her husband and has since developed an active involvement in both hunting and shooting sports.⁠
⁠
Carly participates in shooting disciplines including long-range rifle shooting from 300 to 1000 yards through club and range-based competition. Her experience includes field hunting, regular range practice, and firearm use including a Lithgow LA105 Woomera Signature in 6.5 Creedmoor and a Tikka T3x Lite .308.⁠

Carly also hosts the Women Who Hunt podcast and produces digital content focused on hunting and shooting, and will be sharing her experiences in hunting, shooting, and community participation.⁠
