My older sister Annette posted a video today, unsolicited, because she feels I have a story worth listening to. It made me realise I have some awesome people in my life My partner, Suzanne,( love โค๏ธ you heaps but don't tell you enough) is such an inspiring and giving person Gareth, who despite his own situation, which will be known to some, is a champion at taking life by the scruff of the neck and getting everything out of it that he can. Lachlan and Harrison are showing their own talents and I look forward to their journey. I'm only on this Facebook thing (never was going to) because of my on again off relationship with Herbalife. But it's been Andrea's willingness to let me hang around that I am grateful for.
The prompt for this expose was a video I shared recently of a young guy with cerebral palsy competing at a body building competition. What guts, determination, discipline and most importantly for me, an attitude of not giving a damn what others say or think. He was doing it because it was important to him, made him a better person, and would help others A truer inspiration. I just think if we bothered to look we all have inspirational people around us.
Life is about growing. I'm working on me, some things need more work than others. A work in progress. So, having got through cancer, a wonkey elbow a dodgy shoulder, doesn't stop me at 59, being in the best physical shape of my life, my biggest growth will be by overcoming the mental obstacles that to date have acted detours on my journey. But, as I said before I have some amazing people around me, who probably have more faith in me than I do myself. A dose of Gareth's schutzpah would help. Or as someone once said, JUST DO IT๐๐ช๐ค
