South Metro Junior Football League Australian Rules football competition based in Melbourne's south-east.

The South Metro Junior Football League (SMJFL) came into existence in 2012, after the Moorabbin Saints Junior Football League (MSJFL) was renamed in order to better represent the League's geographical spread and its presence in south-east metropolitan Melbourne.

The South Metro Junior Football League hosted the annual Umpire Presentation Night on Wednesday the 2nd of September, celebrating the collective success of the TLC Healthcare SMJFL Umpire Academy in 2026, and recognising standout personal achievements.

We had the pleasure of hosting a panel with Simon Meredith, Peter Bailes and Rob O'Gorman - three current AFL umpires who began their careers in the SMJFL - as they shared insights into their journeys to officiating at the highest level.

The SMJFL extends its congratulations to all award recipients, and we look forward to seeing you back on the field next year!
