Life After Cancer Treatment: Learning to Nurture Yourself Again
I was quite surprised to discover how few communities exist for people navigating life after cancer treatment.
Many people don’t realise that life after cancer is not simply about “going back to normal”. The body has been through an incredible journey, and many things can change — your taste, your vision, your hearing, your breathing, your energy levels, your sleep, and even the way your heart feels.
Whether you have experienced chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, or other treatments, your body deserves patience, care, and support. The journey of rebuilding your strength can begin at any time — it is never too late to start nurturing yourself.
For some people, returning to the gym may feel overwhelming. Long walks may not bring back the strength you are looking for. Swimming may feel like too much effort — especially after months of medications, procedures, injections, IV treatments, countless tablets, sleepless nights, changes in appetite, and emotional challenges.
This is where gentle QiGong can become a beautiful part of your healing journey.
QiGong uses slow movements, breathing techniques, and mindfulness to help reconnect the body and mind. It is gentle, adaptable, and suitable for people at different stages of recovery.
There are many QiGong resources available online, or if you are looking for local guidance, feel free to reach out and ask about available QiGong sessions.
Remember — the greatest investment you can make is an investment in your own health, wellbeing, and quality of life.
