Unfortunately due to a lack of playing numbers for the upcoming 2025/26 PDCA B grade competition, the Drumborg-Heywood Cricket Club has painstakingly decided to go into recess.

It was a decision not made lightly, looking at multiple avenues to continue on, but it was decided by the existing committee and players that it wasn’t viable almost unanimously.

It’s not goodbye though, we will endeavour to be back next season, but the club has been carried heavily by just a few, and a recharge is needed.

We will continue to stay in touch, with recruiting for next season already on our minds.

Thanks for those that have supported the club in recent years.

We as a club are appreciative of the work the PDCA executive is doing, particularly Jamie Ross, to ensure the kids still have cricket in our region!

How good’s this! A full under-16s team for tonight’s match against Colts at Henty Park. Our team will be defending 98 (Connor Stephens 50 retired off 39 balls).

Our under-16s cricket team kicks off the season tomorrow night, playing against Portland Colts in Portland.

It’s great to have this team continuing after coming back last season from a decade long hiatus.

We have a very good group of kids, that once the season gets going, we are sure will continue to rapidly improve their skill set.
The competition as a whole is struggling for numbers, so it’s important our team gets all involved to kee games going each week.

Last year the club had under-16s for tye first time in years, and we will be returning again in 2023-24!

Training will begin next Thursday night at 4.30pm, October 4.

If you have kids interested, get them along.

We have the under-16s playing their last game of the season tonight and next Tuesday night, up against Portland Tigers at the Heywood Rec Reserve.

The game is played from 5-8pm.
