Tina Baills Horse Riding Coach

Tina Baills Horse Riding Coach Individual, group lessons and workshops available in Hervey Bay, Qld (in a purpose-built sand arena on Tina’s property) or other locations by arrangement.

Specialising in coaching adults, Tina is a fully qualified and experienced coach, rider and competitor providing quality riding lessons to individuals or groups on their own horses. “Become the rider you want to be.” Tina's lessons are very flexible as she understands every horse and rider combination is unique. She believes the equine disciplines that interest us are secondary to the quality of o

ur horsemanship and the relationship we have with our horse. Tina has a background in training, not just riding and competing, so draws on a wealth of knowledge and variety of techniques to help clients achieve their goals. She has fused english and western riding techniques to develop her own style of horsemanship and believes a solid foundation in flat work provides the cornerstones for success in any discipline. QUALIFICATIONS: Nationally Accredited Instructor currently also completing the Senior Instructor module to work with Horse Safety Australia at their clinics assessing individuals seeking a range of equine qualifications. BACKGROUND: Like many, Tina's early riding days began at pony club. By the time she was 19, she was contract mustering on properties in western Queensland where she also began training and starting horses. She competes regularly in various disciplines, runs horsemanship clinics for clubs and private groups and coaches flatwork segments at club days where she gets so much satisfaction helping people have those 'light bulb moments' with their horse.

Wow! Billabong Ranch at Echuca is amazing. I’ve just come home from assessing at a Horse Safety Australia clinic this week and we were blessed to have these guys as hosts. What an incredible place. I can’t wait to go back to stay as a guest to go horse riding, camel riding, rock climbing, bungee trampolining, try out the pedal boats, indoor mini golf and all the other wonderful things they offer … oh, and the Clydesdales and coaches - next level ❤️

I really enjoyed today at my first attempt at working equitation. Our intro class was only four riders, but I’m so chuffed to come home with second place. I’m proud of my little bush pony with no dressage experience and limited obstacle exposure to hold it all together and give it his best shot. Today was a steep learning curve and I quickly developed a great respect for this discipline. It’s lots of fun but quite technical and I love that horsemanship is at the forefront of it all. Thanks to Maryborough Active Riders Club for putting on the day, the judges and volunteers and the lovely company of friends and co-competitors that made the day even better.

Well here goes … I’m off to working equitation tomorrow to try something new. Exciting yes, but I’ve no idea of all the rules or requirements as I’ve not yet even done a training day. What could go wrong 😊? However, I got to work on some obstacles yesterday, which I took full advantage of at Mungar Road Neighborhood Arena. To add to the chaos, the horse I was planning on riding became lame on Wednesday so I’ve had to pull my awesome old 20yo stock horse out of the paddock and dust him off for the event. He’s great in his own right and still competes but isn’t experienced in obstacles and has zero, yes zero dressage training, the two components of working equitation I’ll be doing tomorrow. Given I’m only doing intro level, it’s all slow paced so fitness wise, he’ll be fine. Anyway, just sharing the info and encouraging everyone to get out there and try some new stuff. Pic of my lovely old and paddock-fat stock horse, freshly bathed and all ready for tomorrow.
