Happy Birthday to our incredible Miss Tahnee 💙🌊

To know Tahnee is to know someone who genuinely cares. She’s the first to celebrate a little win, the first to lend a hand, and always has time for a family, a swimmer, or a teammate who needs her.

As our Aquatics Team Leader, she brings so much experience and knowledge to Mako’s, but it’s her warmth, patience, and ability to make every child feel seen that really sets her apart.

Tahnee, thank you for everything you do for our swimmers, our team, and our community. We’re lucky to have you as part of Mako’s. Have the most wonderful birthday! 🥳💜

One of the biggest lessons in swimming isn't about moving... it's about being still. ✨

Learning to relax on the back helps children control their breathing, understand how their body floats, and feel comfortable in the water instead of fighting against it.

It looks simple, but it's teaching trust, body awareness, and an important water safety skill that every child can carry with them for life. 🌊

A big thank you for having us at the 20th Anniversary Community Showcase this past Saturday with Community Bank Hervey Bay! 🎨🌈✨🦈

There were big smiles, lots of creativity, and plenty of chats with familiar faces and new ones too. It's pretty special being part of a community that comes together to support local families, and remind us why Hervey Bay is such a beautiful place to call home.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, and we can't wait to see some of those painted faces back in the pool soon! 🩵🌊

🦖🌿 Roar-Some Safety Week is coming! 🌿🦖

We're finishing off Term 2 with one of our favourite weeks of the year!

From splashing in the pool to practising important water safety skills in and around the water, the kids will be learning through play, building confidence, and having plenty of dinosaur-sized fun along the way. 🦕💦

There might be a few dinosaurs roaming around the pool, lots of laughs, and maybe even a roar or two... but underneath all the fun is some really important learning.

We can't wait to finish the term with our amazing Mako's families. Thank you for another term of cheering your little swimmers on and helping us create such a fun, welcoming, and supportive community. 🦖🐾

🏊‍♀️ WE’RE BACK IN THE WATER! 🌊

Great news, Mako families! Our pool has returned to the required temperature, and we are all set to run classes as normal this afternoon. 💜💚

Our heaters have worked overtime today to get the pool back to its lovely, toasty winter temperature, ready for happy swimmers and plenty of fun in the water! 🥰

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we worked through the issue. We can’t wait to see everyone back poolside! 🦈💦

🏊‍♀️ Pool Closure Notice 🏊‍♂️

Due to a power outage over the weekend, our pool heating system has been impacted and the pool temperature is currently below the required winter operating standards.

To ensure the safety, comfort, and wellbeing of all our little swimmers, we have made the decision to cancel all AM classes today while we work to restore heating and return the pool to the required temperature.

We apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. 💜💚

Please contact our team to arrange a make-up lesson for your swimmer.
