Throughout the season, Preston Pirates Baseball Club, like clubs across the competition, relies heavily on our amazing volunteer umpires to ensure our Seniors, Womenโs and Junior games can take the field each week.

Whether you've umpired before or have never umpired a game, the Baseball Victoria Umpires Course is a great opportunity to learn the basics, build your confidence and gain practical experience.

The Community component is FREE if you attend the Friday evening and Saturday morning sessions only.
If you're looking to accelerate your learning and development, there is also:
Optional Saturday afternoon session โ $15, including lunch
Optional Sunday learning & development session โ $15, including lunch
Our Preston Pirates umpires are rostered from our Seniors and Womenโs playing groups, so if you're a Seniors or Womenโs player, there's a good chance you'll be asked to umpire during the season.
Junior parents this opportunity is also for you! If you're interested in learning to umpire and helping the club, we'd love to have you involved.
And to support our Preston Pirates members who take the opportunity to develop their umpiring skills by attending either or both of the optional learning and development sessions on the Saturday afternoon and / or Sunday the Preston Pirates will provide one $20 Preston Pirates Canteen voucher to every Preston Pirates player who attends the Baseball Victoria Umpires Course. (You will need to provide proof of attendance to redeem your Preston Pirates Canteen Voucher)
