A great result for our young people and our volleyball community!
Today we welcomed our new Flying Turtle machine to Maroondah Nets — an idea championed by members of Maroondah Volleyball’s Youth Advisory Committee (YAC).
Our young members put forward their own submission to Maroondah City Council, explaining that this was about much more than having somewhere to grab a drink. They wanted to help create a more welcoming social space where juniors, senior players, coaches, families and volunteers can spend time together, connect and build relationships beyond the volleyball court.
We’re incredibly proud to see our young people identify an opportunity to strengthen their community, speak up for it and see their idea become a reality.
A big thank you to Maroondah City Council (Maroondah City Council) and Cr Claire Rex (Cr Claire Rex - Maroondah Council, Jubilee Ward) for listening to our young people, supporting their proposal and helping make it happen.
We look forward to seeing the machine become another small but important part of making Maroondah Nets a place where our members don’t just come to play volleyball — they come to belong.
