We are happy to announce that the courts are back open. All works have now been completed. Court 3 will be out of action for a few more weeks due to surface repairs.
We would like to thank Maroondah City Council, Victorian State Government and Tennis Australia for helping fund the LED Upgrade to the Courts.
We also send a big thanks to all the clubs that have accommodated competition matches over the last few months.

The Light Upgrade Project is nearing completion with just site cleanup and courts works to be completed over the coming weeks. We anticipate to be back on the courts at the end of March. Please keep an eye out on our Website and Social Media Pages for updates. 🎾

Congratulations to Rueben, one of our junior comp players who has been selected to be a ball kid (at the net) for both the men’s semi finals and the woman’s final. Clean hands Rueben, well done. Terrific to see the next generation leading the way and being inspired by today’s elite champions.

Nearly all lights have been fitted to the new poles. A little pruning to go but it is getting exciting to see the progress. With comp getting underway in Feb we can’t wait I get back on court.

Terrific to see our new light poles go up this week. Our lighting and fencing project is coming together, and we can’t wait to be back on court. In the coming weeks all cabling will be completed, new switchboard, fences, brickwork,
surface remediation and irrigation. It is going to be a busy time with play expected to resume in the first week of March.

As we approach the start of the Australian Open (the best time of year), it is time to celebrate some champions of our own.

In October last year, we held our Club Championships finals. Our members had battled it out for the two months prior, with 19 entries on the mens side and 6 for the womens. It all came down to the final 2, with Rebecca Trevillian facing Bev Ellis in the womens championships, and Sean Spralja facing Will Ellis on the mens side.

It was a hard fought match in both finals, with Beck notching her first win over Bev 8-6

On the mens side, it was Sean Spralja that came out on top for his first Heathmont Club Championship beating Will Ellis 6-0 7-5, including a 5-2 comeback in the second set. It capped off a brilliant year for Sean which also saw him win the Grade 4 Pennant Final alongside Will.

I want to thank everyone who came down to watch and celebrate some fantastic tennis. It was a fantastic environment to be a part of on the day.

Also, a huge mention to for coming down and taking some stunning photos of the day. She has once again managed to capture the best moments of every match with some amazing photography. More photos from each individual event will be posted in the coming days!

Works are continuing well as our members and court time makes way for our new LED light and fencing. The contractors have poured all footing and will be erecting the new light towers first thing in the New Year. Fingers crossed we are back at them in late Feb 26. Club President Simon O'Callaghan bumped into tennis great Ash Barty at Melbourne Park today who was more than happy to send this shout out to our members. What a champ!

Ash is a three-time Grand Slam singles champion.

Maybe we should invite Ash the reopening of our facility when our lights and fences are completed.

Congratulations to Heathmont Tennis Club coach will_1326 for winning the tennisvic Grade 4 Pennant Player of the Year! Will had a fantastic season, going undefeated in singles and doubles and winning his first Pennant title. If you see Will around the club, please make sure to congratulate him on this spectacular achievement
