Congratulations Tony Huang!
Last Friday evening, our Junior Awards Night was held. It was a fantastic night celebrating the success of all our Junior teams and members.
A massive congratulations to Tony Huang who was awarded the most prestigious award within our Junior Program - the Stephen Kitto Trophy. Well deserved recognition of Tony's talent, hard work, dedication and incredible sportsmanship. Well done Tony!
The Stephen Kitto Trophy for the Most Valuable Player in the Under 17s was incepted in 2001.
Steve joined the Club as an U13 in 1971, worked his way through all junior ranks and started playing seniors in 1976. He has not missed a season since, and in 2025 he passed an incredible milestone of achieving 800 Senior games for the Club.
Steve has been Club President in 1995 and 1996, Vice President in 1988, 1989, 1993, 2003, and 2005, Junior Co-ordinator in 1993, 1994, 1998 and 2005, and ran the Club newsletter (Oracle) in 1995, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2004 and 2005.
He has coached many, many Junior and Senior teams over the years - too many to list as they date back to 1980 and continue right through until today, and include teams at all junior levels from Rookies to U17 and all senior levels from D Reserve through to A Reserve.
Stephen became the 9th Life Member of the Heathmont Baseball Club in 1993, and won the Ken Ramsden Memorial Trophy in 1996.
Steve’s impact at the Club has been significant to so many players young and old, and it is only fitting that the U17s Most Valuable Player Trophy is named in his honour.
