With the season now having come to a end, there was one retirement come from the victorious Grand Final

Here at the Heathcote Cricket Club we thank Rowey for his time back here at Heathcote, having played junior and senior cricket here previously now including two successful seasons as coach, with two finals campaigns with this year going all the way in the A Reserve division.

Having struggled with a persistent injury since the Christmas break and with that elusive first premiership here at the mighty Saints now complete, he announced that this season was his last.

We wish Rowey, Gradey and Ollie all the best for the future and thank you for your time back here were it all began!

Hatrick for Saint Nick ⚫🔴⚪

Most bowlers dream to take a hatrick, most bowlers dream to win a grand final ... Saint Nick has now done both on the same day, as unbelievable as that sounds, it happened yesterday the 21st of March 2026 at the Wesley Hill Recreation Reserve in a grand final against Newstead

This unbelievable display of bowling also earned him the best on medal in the grand final

Heathcote are officially premiers for the 2025/26 season

Having been the side to beat all year, our A Reserve side finished the home and away season on top of the ladder clear by 6 points and were tipped to go all the way.

Having won the toss and electing to bowl first, runs were hard to come by for Newstead early on.... then enters Mr finals himself ........ Saint Nick ....... Nick Malavisi shown the league just why we believe he is the number 1 spinner in the A Reserve division, not only did he take 5 wickets, he took a hatrick (more to come on this) this put a halt to any chances of Newstead posting a competitive total with good support from Tim Gleeson with 2 wickets

With a complete 360 from semi final 1 in progress Newstead managed to post 92

Early on having lost the leagues leading run scorer in Brad Rowe and semi final 2 hero and Captain Bradley Polson cheaply it was possibly another batting collapse on the cards ... we need not worry Brett Polson changed the momentum with a massive 6 straight then to be dismissed for 19, then entered Cale Polson to join Tim Gleeson and the rest is history ...... having made 34 and 29 both not out respectively the two boys batted calmly and controlled to swing all momentum back to us then game was ours!

This concludes the perfect season for the A Reserve team, who have been dominant all year and really deserved this premiership

Today is the day Heathcote!

We want to see as much ⚪🔴⚫ to cheer our A Reserve team on as they face of against Newstead for premiership glory ....... the teams have faced of two times this years to be locked at 1-1 don't miss this one as this game is sure to be a cracker.

Grand Final - Team Selection 🏏

It all comes down to this for the Bradley Polson led A Reserve team ........ playing against Newstead once again only this time at Wesley Hill Oval in Castlemaine, the winner to be crowned premiers for 2026!

Finals Round 2 - Results 🏏

Well Saint Nick has spun his web and the Bigshow has hit North Castlemaine all over the park .......... Heathcote are of to the A Reserve grand final!

Winning the toss and bowling first North Castlemaine posted a very competitive score of 189, best of our bowlers were Nick Malavisi with 3 and all other bowlers chipping in with 1 each, batting we got of to a bit of a shaky start but rebuilding through Brad Polson 90* and Tim Gleeson 23 the run chase was back on track and the game was ours!

Grand Final next weekend Saturday the 21st of March 1.00PM with more details coming soon!
