MEMBERS NIGHT
Another great members night had by all. Great to see all the new members enjoying themselves, and after a great meal put on by our very good volunteers, quite a few adjourned to the pool room where a few sharp shooters were able to win a few dollars. It was great to see old and new members enjoying each other's company. Thank you to Robyn, Steve, Julie, Rita & Carol for the beautiful meal and Judy for cleaning up afterwards. A special thanks to Greg for repairing the gate, and fixing the main door to the club house. Next Friday night we are having Kelly Pool night if anyone is interested in coming down. $1 per game, winner takes all. Starting around 7ish, see you there.

AGM and PRESENTATION day
Today was our AGM followed by a lunch prepared by Robyn, Steve and their band of little helpers who prepared a lunch that was to be proud of. It really was a credit to Robyn who was filling some big shoes but came through with flying colours. After lunch we had presentations and there was a changing of the guard when it came to this year's recipients. Congratulations to all of the winners and runners up, you did our club proud. To the members who have decided to move on, we wish you all the best in your new endeavours. To all our members, we thank you for your support in 25/26 season and look forward to again being very competitive in 2026/27 season. Our Volunteers who are the backbone of the club, a big thank you, without you we would not have a club. This club has been around for 135 years and with the support of the community we will be there for another 135 years. If you are thinking of taking up bowls or are looking for somewhere where you can meet people and have a drink, come on down and you will be more than welcomed with opened arms.

Yesterday we hosted an end of harvest function for GIANT STEPS WINES. Our thanks to Mel, Tom and Mike for choosing our club for their function. What a great few hours it was, the atmosphere and vibes were amazing. With everyone in fancy dress, there was plenty of laughter and memories made. It's the generosity of local businesses like Giant Steps that help to keep our club going. Also a big thankyou to our team of volunteers. Well done.

COMMUNITY BOWLS CHALLENGE
FINAL
Last night saw the Final of our Community Bowls Challenge under a beautiful Autum night. The 4 qualifying Teams were pumped, but still with a few nerves, especially for Team Leaky Legends who had one of their top bowlers go A Wall over to South Korea, on a night when he was needed, but they did manage to get a fill in at the last minute. I have to say that the boys in Leaky Legends had their boss from Reece plumbing there to watch them and if they won, he was going to give them Friday afternoon off from work. I will tell you the result later. Another one of the teams whom are called the Marshmallows were serious in their endeavour’s, to the point that they put a lot of practice in during the week. There were only 2 teams standing in their way, Code Art and the Pink Cantina who were both season performers. Pink Cantina played the Marshmallows in the first round and Code Art played Leaky Legends. Although both matches were close, Pink Cantina and Code Art got over the top of them to have Leaky Legends and The Marshmallows to play off for 3rd and 4th. The first couple of ends it was close but the Marshmallows picked up a 6 on one end which made it hard for the Leaky legends to catch and therefore The Marshmallows came home in 3rd place while I believe the Leaky legends might be working this Saturday. Code Art and The Pink Cantina fought it out for 1st and 2nd place. After 5 ends they were even and on the last end, each had a bowl in the head and it came down to a measure. There was 4mm in it but Code Art were closer and to their credit they took out the Final for a 2nd year in a row with The Pink Cantina as runners up. The games were played in good spirit and show cased the goodwill that the local traders, tradies and groups have in the community. The Community Bowls Challenge was again a very successful event which will continue to grow as interested groups in the community here about the event. There are a lot of people to thank, especially the Sponsors who provided all the great prizes for the competitors and the raffles.
They are- Tuck Inn Accommodation, Healesville Hotel, Toyota Healesville, Watts River Brewery, The RSL, The Blueberry Farm, My Little Kitchen, Cherry Tree Café, The Grand Hotel, Sammy’s Charcoal Chicken, The Terminus Hotel and Willow and Jackson. And a BIG thank you to Aldi Healesville and Wild Grains bakery for suppling all of our BBQ requirements. This is a good example of our Healesville traders supporting the community so consider them the next time you are shopping.
And finally, we couldn’t put this event on without the generous help of our Volunteers, Mick and Rita on the BBQ, Steve, Robyn, Jill, Judy, Robert behind the bar and Bob, Colin, Mike, Anne, Julie, Jude, Adrian and Gerda.
We will start up again in October on Wednesday 28th until December 2nd. If anyone is interested in putting a team together, you can contact me on 0418288037.

5th Week of COMMUNITY BOWLS CHALLENGE
Last night saw the 5th and final week before the finals and we were preying all day that the expected thunderstorms that were coming between 5.00pm and 8.00pm didn’t come, and our wishes come good as it was a beautiful night. This week although the top 2 teams were locked in, there were several teams that could make it to the final. I was able to watch a few teams last night and the quality of the bowling over the last 5 weeks has improved immensely. Have A Dig, D S Plumbing, The Grand Hotel, Watts River Brewery all put in some great scores, but fell short of making the final four. 1st place on 93 Pink Cantina, 2nd on 83 points Code Art, on 81 points, Leaky Legends and in 4th on 79 the Marshmallows. In the Final next week 1st plays 4th and 2nd plays 3rd. the 2 losers play off for 3rd and the 2 winners play off for 1st and 2nd. Come along next Wednesday and watch some great bowling with some great food and a bunch of great (Fantastic) raffle prizes.
