Hay Vets Golf Results for 2 September 2026

The winner of the Stableford event was Rob Young with 39 Stableford points. Ball winners were Noel Coorliss – 28 points, Mark Pritchard – 28 points and Wayne Dunbar – 27 points in a countback.
The novelty winners were Allan Japp– Straight Drive on the 1st, Rob Young - Long Putt on the 3rd, Bowlo nearest the pin on the 7th, and long putt on the 18th, Dick van Buuren - Nearest the Pin 2nd shot on the 11th.

Saturdays Bowls consisted of 2 x games of Veteran Singles (over 60) and 2 x Social Triples.
In Veterans singles we welcomed back Cherylle Schiller who came up against Eddie Redfern, it took a while for Cherylle to get her touch back and despite a competitive last half of the match it was Eddie who prevailed by 31 shots to 8. In the 2nd veteran singles Kym Crocker led Geoff Lucas 11-10 after 12 ends but Geoff stepped up a gear to finish stronger than Kym and went on to win 32-14.
In social bowls we welcome new comer Zac O'Neill who led for Peter Marks with Frank Young at 2nd up against Lane Griffiths (in practice for Moulamein Pairs in December) who with Nathan Crocker at 2nd and Lee Young Skipping had a good start and maintained their lead to the end and hung on to win 15-11. In the other match Arthur Summers Bev Cresswell and Phil Ruddick got a 3 on the first end against Dave Morpeth Charles James and Peter Lugsdin and were never behind until they dropped a 4 on the last end to go down by 13 shots to 12. Never ever give up.
On Sunday there was 2 games of social pairs with Charles James and Peter Busch holding control against Dave Morpeth and Katrina Lewis throughout their match and won 16-3, in the other match Frank Young and Nathan Crocker led 14-4 against Zac Tarsoly and Paul Kretschmer until Paul's new flash bowls started to find their range but Nathan and Frank held on to win 15-9.
This put the play off between Peter Busch and Charlie James against Nathan Crocker and Frank Young in which Nathan's team won 4-1 to collect the chocolates.
Earlier in the week Hayden Marlin played Ricky Dickson in a game of handicap singles, Hayden gave Ricky 15 shots start and at the half way mark scores were all but level and with 2 ends to play Hayden led by only 4 shots but finished the better to record a close victory 102-93.
Next weekend is Presidents Day at Barellan and locally the Symons Triathlon on Saturday.
