Merry Christmas Everyone ❤️
It’s been a while since I’ve done a Christmas photo with Diesel. Last slide is dated back to 2019. Just a reminder that we are growing old together 🥹

Where do I begin 😅 it has been another rough year battling with fixing my hip so that I never end up with a buldging disc again. I’m about 99% recovered which means next year I’ll be able to start making some progress again with my weights.

I also wasn’t sure if I was going to compete with the ungodly hour of lifting at 8.45pm and then being sick with a head cold that started that very day.

BUT I made it and I’m so happy to have been able to hit my current PR Clean and Jerk at 98kg on platform. Surely I got 100kg, right?!

There’s still work to be done and despite my endless setbacks I continue to improve year after year. Thank you to my amazing coach for making me the best I can possibly be.

Thank you to for coaching me on comp day

Life Lately
Moving again has brought a huge amount of stress physically, emotionally, mentally. On top of that, dealing with multiple injuries has made it harder to stay grounded, and honestly, it’s taken a toll.

What I’ve been reflecting on is how social media can be so misleading. A photo, a video, it captures a second, not the full story. I can post something that looks positive or put together, and people assume everything’s great.

The part that’s hit me the hardest is that often it’s strangers, people I barely know online, who reach out, check in, and ask how I really am. Meanwhile, people closest to me see the same post and just assume I’m fine.

It makes me wonder…have we stopped paying attention to the small signs in the people we know and love? Are we only seeing what we want to see?

Everyday feels like a vacation when everything is new to you. This is our 5th time moving together and we will be moving again in 2 months time. I think this is the happiest we have both been.

Some things I’ve noticed since moving to Brisbane
- there’s no warning signs for phone/speed/red light cameras
- peak hour traffic is only another 10 mins to your trip (Sydney it’s minimum 20 mins extra)
- in general everyone is happier, healthier and fitter
- walking/cycle track never ends (can travel the whole city safely)
- winter is only cold mornings and night time. During the day it’s basically summer
