Bit of unfortunate news everyone πŸ˜”
Due to some red tape from the university about off campus events and our plans for the upcoming Phillip Island camp we are going to have to postpone that camp until further notice...

We will try and work something out ASAP and hopefully have a date set in stone soon! Until then remember you can use our Facebook group to meet up with other members for a surf any time

Stay tuned,
Hopefully we will have some good news soon.

πŸ“£
Its been a fairly lacklustre year for SBC with everything 2020 has had to offer but regardless its that time of year we need to reregister!

We have big plans for 2021 to make up for missed camps this year, and we can guarantee your going to want to be a part of it, it also happens to be our 5th year since establishement πŸ₯³

Our annual start of year Torquay camp is all but confirmed for week 1 semester 1, and you can expect all the other usual locations like the Peninsular and Phillip Island, as well as some new/less travelled ones πŸ˜‰

To kick it all off we will be holding our AGM from next Monday, as per university guidelines this needs to be held online, via google forms, we also need atleast 20 people to meet quorum for this.

More info and the link for that on the day

To finish off, We'd like to say a big thankyou to our 121 members this year, were sorry we weren't able to hold many camps, but we hope to make up for it in 2021 πŸ€™πŸ€™

A message about club activities from student life:

"As you are well aware, the current situation with COVID19 is rapidly evolving and affecting the way we operate during this uncertain time. In-line with current advice from the Vice Chancellor and health authorities, all club events and meetings will need to be postponed or cancelled until further notice in order to limit the potential spread of the virus.

While there’s a lot to get involved in on campus this semester, it’s important to stay informed on the risks of coronavirus, and how to keep yourself, your mates and your community safe. You can stay in the loop with updates on the situation by regularly checking the Swinburne News site or FAQ page

Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time, it is a difficult time for all of us. Please look after yourselves, your members and the community."

Our next planned event is meet-ups at the Rip Curl Pro Bells, from the 8th to 18th of April, followed by a camp down to Cape Paterson in the weeks shortly afterwards - hopefully the situation is a bit clearer by next month and we can let you know if these will go ahead

Edit: News just in from the WSL is that all of their events through to the end of May have been cancelled or postponed - that includes the Rip Curl Pro at Bells
