The Hawthorn Weightlifting Club has been a breeding ground for elite athletes for over 50 years. Hawthorn has helped young people grow into responsible adults, and helped young and old alike in achieving their dreams of representing their country in sport. Hawthorn is still a breeding ground for success - as well as producing elite Weightlifters, we can also help ahtletes from other sports reach t

heir potential in their own sport - be it rowing, athletics, cycling, football or any other sport. There are approximately 50 athletes that currently train at Hawthorn, ranging from beginners to the top athletes in the country. Olympic Weightlifting is an equal oppurtunity, barrier free sport - Please feel free to enquire about us and find out if we can help you in your chosen sport, or if Weightlifting is the sport for you.

It's time to get the lifting show on the road for 2025!

HWC will host the first competition in Victoria with the 2025 New Year Open on Saturday 18th January.

Entries close Sunday 12th January at 12:00pm. Enter via our website or through the link in our bio.

All entrants must be 2025 VWA members. Head to www.vicweightlifing.com to become a member.

The final open competition in Victoria for 2024 is upon us. The Hawthorn Championships will round out another big year for lifting. Don't miss your opportunity to compete one last time at the home of strength before we usher in the 2025 season.

Back and taking names! Entries for all HWC competitions are now live on the HWC Website. Visit hawthornweightlifting.com to enter or go directly from our linktree extension.

First up is the Alby Dutton Memorial on Saturday 4th May. Entries close on Saturday April 20th. All our competitions are open to 2024 VWA members, please ensure you are a current member at the time of registration.

We are back! Hawthorn Weightlifting Club competitions are now on for 2024. have sanctioned 2 more competitions for the year. Entries will open this weekend for all our competitions. The first competition will take place in just over a month. Keep an eye out for more details released this Friday. The Alby Dutton and Bill Keir Memorial will take place during the qualifying period for the National Championships. Don’t miss your chance to hit the platform when competitions return to the home of strength.
