We are pleased to introduce the Hawthorn Boroondara Cricket Club’s new Mission Statement and Values, developed through a thoughtful period of consultation with players, members, volunteers and stakeholders across our community. Built on the core values of Respect, Community and Development, these guiding principles reflect what matters most to our club today while also providing a clear, aspirational framework for future decision-making. Together, they set the standard for how we represent HBCC on and off the field, helping to shape a strong, connected and future-focused club culture. Annual General Meeting

All players, families, volunteers, supporters, and members are invited to attend the Annual General Meeting.

The AGM is a chance to reflect on the season, hear updates from the committee, discuss plans for the future, and help shape the direction of the club moving forward. Committee positions will also be declared, and we encourage anyone interested in getting involved to come along.

Whether you’ve been part of the club for years or are new to the community, your voice and contribution are important.

Morris returns home to lead the Hawks! 🦅✍️

HBCC is very excited to announce that Chris Morris will be our Men’s Head Coach for the next two seasons! After a thorough recruitment process, Chris stood out as the best candidate to drive the Men’s section of the club forward. A high achieving junior of the club, ex-captain and ECA representative player and coach, Chris previously lead the Junior program before spending the last 10 years in England working at Surrey County Cricket Club. In this time in the old dart, he lead programs in the UK and Wales, successfully coaching and playing. His experiences both here and overseas has developed his coaching philosophy, which will greatly improve the men’s section of the club. Welcome Chris! 🦅🦅

Hansika joins the Hawks! 🦅✍️

HBCC is excited to announce our first player signing for 2026/27 - Hansika Kodikara. Hansie is a canny swing bowler and tenacious batter, joining us after a strong showing in the VTCA last season. We look forward to the passion and skill he’ll bring to the club. Welcome Hansie!

Exciting news for our junior program

We’re proud to announce the appointment of Neil Gray as Junior Coaching Development Manager (Mixed & Girls) for Season 26/27.

As our junior program continues to grow in size and ambition, this newly created role is a key step forward for the club. It reflects our commitment to better supporting the incredible volunteer coaches who are at the heart of everything we do, while continuing to raise the standard and consistency of coaching across both Mixed and Girls programs.

President Graeme Yole said,

“Our junior program continues to grow strongly, and creating this role is a significant step forward for the club. Neil’s experience in coach development and community sport makes him the ideal person to help support and guide our volunteer coaches.”

Junior Mixed Chair Giles Matthews added,

“Our volunteer coaches are the backbone of the program. This role ensures they feel supported, connected and confident each week. We’re excited about what this means for the consistency and quality of coaching across our Mixed teams.”

Girls Chair Lisa Dobson said,

“I am incredibly excited about what Neil can bring to the girls program at HBCC with his background in coaching development, high performance environments and women’s sport. He is genuinely invested in female participation and continuing to grow the female pathway at HBCC. His passion for mentoring coaches will ensure our volunteer parent coaches are well supported and our girls have the best possible experience.

Our girls program has grown exponentially in the last 5 years but the bar is high in terms of what we want to achieve so this is really just the next chapter.”

We’re incredibly proud of the people who make this club what it is and this role is all about supporting them to keep building something special.

Some people are the heartbeat of a club - quietly doing the work, never asking for recognition, just showing up time and time again for others.

Lisa Dobson is exactly that.

From the big things to the small details no one sees, she gives so much of herself to make our club a better place for everyone. This recognition is so well deserved, even if it only scratches the surface of her impact.

We are incredibly proud to have you as part of our club, Lisa and even prouder to see you recognised as the David Jukes Cricket Victoria Volunteer of the Year.
