💙 2026 HJFC SPIRIT AWARD — JAXON LEHMANN 💙

This year, we introduced a brand-new award to recognise outstanding commitment and support throughout the 2026 season — and there was no one more deserving than Jaxon Lehmann.

Unfortunately, we weren’t able to field a team in Jaxon’s age group this season, meaning he didn’t get the opportunity to take the field himself. But that never stopped him from showing up for his club.

Week after week, Jaxon was there — sorting apparel, filling water bottles, carrying bags, supporting the canteen and helping wherever he could. He even joined his dad on Sunday mornings to mark the lines, turning up ready to lend a hand before the day had even begun.

He showed us that being a Bluey is about so much more than playing football. It’s about commitment, generosity, teamwork and having heart for your club.

Jaxon, thank you for everything you’ve contributed to Hastings Junior Football Club this season. You have truly embodied the Blueys spirit.

Congratulations on being the inaugural recipient of the HJFC Spirit Award. 🏆

💙 JUNIOR BLUEYS AWARD — RYDER LIDDELL 💙

Some players show you what club spirit means without ever needing to say a word. Ryder is one of those players.

Always the first to put his hand up to play or support our older teams when they’re short, Ryder is someone his club can count on.

And when a small fracture in his arm meant he couldn’t take to the field for part of the season, that didn’t stop him from being part of his team. He continued to show up to every training session and every game — watching, encouraging and supporting his teammates.

He is always looking for ways to improve his fitness and skills, because he genuinely wants to be better, but what makes Ryder special is the love he has for Hastings Junior Football Club and the people in it.

The Junior Blueys Award is about showing the Blueys spirit, both on and off the field. Ryder, you embody that spirit in so many ways.

We are incredibly proud of you and so lucky to have you as part of our Blueys family💙

💙 SENIOR BLUEYS AWARD — AMANDA HUGO 💙

Congratulations Amanda Hugo on receiving our 2026 Senior Blueys Award.

Our Senior Blueys Award is an annual award that recognises a volunteer of the club who goes above for the season, representing our heart, mission and culture of the club. Amanda could not be a more worthy recipient.

Amanda invests her heart, time and soul into Hastings Junior Football Club. She has worn more hats than we could count — Treasurer, photographer, canteen supervisor, roster organiser, merchandise and apparel, grounds marshal, cleaner and disco supervisor, just to name a few!

But it’s not just what Amanda does — it’s the way she does it. With kindness, humility, love and absolutely no expectation of recognition.

She is always the first to encourage others, always willing to help and always gives 100%.

She somehow manages all of this while juggling family life, sport commitments for the kids including rep basketball and a FIFO husband, oh and throw in an unexpected knee surgery — and still finds more to give.

Amanda is truly one in a million, and we would be lost without her.

We actually had to keep this award a secret because we knew she would never accept it! 😂

But bad luck, Amanda… this one was for you. 💙

Thank you for everything you do. You are so incredibly deserving. 🏆

And just like that… our second season as President & Vice President of Hastings Junior Football Club comes to an end.

When Joel and I threw our hats in the ring two years ago, we had never even spoken and honestly had no idea what we were signing ourselves up for. 😂 We went into it pretty blindly, with plenty to learn along the way — but one thing we have never lacked is a clear vision for what we want to build.

🔹A club where our kids feel safe, supported and valued.
🔹A club built on humility, respect, resilience and community.
🔹A club where winning matters, but who you become along the way matters more.
🔹And a club our families are genuinely proud to call home.

There have been plenty of challenges, big decisions, late nights and moments where we have questioned what we were doing… but there have also been so many moments that remind us exactly why we said yes.

We are incredibly proud of what we are building at HJFC — and even more excited about where we are heading. So thanks to everyone has supported and placed confidence in us over the past two seasons.

Exciting times ahead for HJFC. But first, lots of amazing photos and moments from our Presentation Day today, which we will share soon 😉

There was no wiping the smiles off these faces when our Hastings Junior Football Club players received their Player of the Day awards this season 😄💙

A huge thank you to – Hastings’ newest frozen yoghurt store and already a fan favourite, for generously supporting our players with these delicious awards.

We are so grateful for the support of local businesses that helped make our kids feel extra special each week. Thank you for your support during our 2026 season 🙏💙

💙 HJFC PRESENTATION DAY - 30 AUGUST 2026 💙

It’s time to celebrate an incredible 2026 season at Hastings Junior Football Club!

Join us on Sunday 30 August at 2.00pm as we bring our football family together to:

✨ Celebrate our players and their achievements
✨ Recognise our amazing coaches and volunteers
✨ Celebrate the people who make our club so special
✨ Hear what is in store for 2027
✨ Enjoy an afternoon together and have some fun!

This is a free event - we simply ask all families to bring a plate to share. We are coming together to create a big communal grazing table for everyone to enjoy. Bring along your favourite hot dish, baked treat, fruit, salad, or simply a packet of chips — every contribution is appreciated!

Open to all players and their families (including siblings), friends, sponsors, life members and supporters of our club. The more the merrier 🙌

The lessons that matter most…

Sometimes the most powerful lessons our kids learn at footy have nothing to do with the scoreboard.

This is Joel, our Vice President of Hastings Junior Football Club who volunteered to umpire our U10 game a couple of weeks ago. During this game he realised he had made the wrong umpiring call against our team.

After the game, Joel came into the change rooms and asked to speak to the players. He acknowledged his mistake, apologised and asked the players for forgiveness.

And this is exactly the culture we are building at Hastings Junior Football Club.

A culture where we show our kids that it is ok to make mistakes.

That having the courage to admit when we are wrong is a strength, not a weakness.

That humility matters.

And that we are never too proud to say, “I got it wrong. I’m sorry. Please forgive me.”

And judging by the overflowing cuddles in this photo, Joel was not only forgiven… he created a moment these players will remember for a very long time 💙

Because these are the lessons we hope our kids take with them — not just onto the football field, but into life.

🏆⭐️ 50 GAMES - MIRACLE FOLAU ⭐️ 🏆

Congratulations to Miracle Folau on his 50th game on Sunday!

Since his very first game at Hastings Junior Football Club Miracle has continued to step up as a leader, both on and off the field. His commitment, attitude and dedication to the game and his teammates have been outstanding. This was evidenced last year when he was the recipient of our HJFC “Junior Bluey”
Award.

He continues to give his best, improve his game and lift those around him. He has become a player his teammates look up to and someone others can genuinely aspire to emulate.

He is also the first to step in when things need sorting out on the field — a true leader who leads by example. 💙

A pleasure to watch play the game and see the positive impact he has on those around him.

Congratulations on 50 games, Miracle! 🥳

🏆 RUNNERS UP! 🏆

Congratulations to our U10 Blueys on finishing runners up at the MPJFL Lightning Carnival, falling just 4 points short of Somerville JFC Mixed Blue in the final.

It was a HUGE day for our players, battling through freezing rain, mud and some seriously tough conditions. Their resilience, teamwork and determination shone through, and we could not be more proud of each and every player. 💙

A massive thank you to coaches Jacob & Tom, Team Manager Lisa, and all of the incredible volunteers who helped make the day possible. Thank you to MPJFL - Mornington Peninsula Junior Football League for organising a great day and Red Hill JFC for hosting.

And of course, to the Blueys parents who braved the cold and rain to cheer them on — thank you! 👏
