See ya all there next weekend

That’s a wrap!
Omega 100 + State Qualifier #3 at Hastings is done, The dust has settled and we have had time to unpack, sit back and take a breath.

A huge thanks to everyone who rocked up and made the weekend an absolute cracker. We had 131 shooters across two days—seriously good numbers, great banter, and just enough competitiveness to keep everyone on their toes.
• Great targets and a program that politely suggested some of us need to keep practicing
• Two big dinners (Friday + Saturday) to refuel the engines and restore morale
• Heaps of helpers doing the hard yards and many many offers of “helpful advice”
Targets were spot on and the grounds had a bit of everything—enough to test you, enough to make you mutter into your earmuffs, and plenty of laughs and good banter all weekend.
And the food… how good! Proper dinners on Friday and Saturday night—exactly what you need after a big day of ‘controlled breathing’ and questionable decision-making.
The canteen was stacked with lots of goodies to keep everyone fueled up and friendly. Big thanks to the crew who kept things moving in the canteen.
Huge shout out to the Hastings crew—and the extra hands from other clubs—who got in early and helped get everything ready before the first squad even arrived—target prep, setting, tidy-ups, last-minute fixes… you know…all the glamorous stuff. If you saw someone sprinting around with a spanner or a battery and a look of concern, that was probably one of that lot. We’re always cautious about listing names in case we miss someone, but please know your effort was noticed and genuinely appreciated (even if we didn’t say it until after the dust settled).

Target setting team
• Kim Halbert
• Billy Clarke
• Oliver Van Heerden
• Sean Mountford
• Ryan Macpherson
• Mike Ledger
• Steve Tunnicliffe
• Garry Stippo
• Luka Stippo
• Dylan Stippo

Pack up crew...
was too many to keep track of ... but thanks for all that helped,

General help around the grounds and facilities
• Billy Clarke
• Mike Ledger
• Jessie Mountford (plus Rad and Alaska)
• Rob Copetta and Billy Gow—special mention for cutting all that wood that we couldn’t use but at least it’s there for next time…
• Jimmy Mcbain

Canteen
Ably led by Coral, with help from Kay, Sharon and Ivy Stippo. Thanks, ladies—brilliant effort all weekend.

And to Smeds and Shippy for tackling the washing up on Saturday night—sorry boys, we know it just kept coming. You two turned dish duty into an endurance event, and we appreciate it.

Office and Chief Raffle Ticket Seller
Sharon—absolutely integral to the successful running of the weekend. It simply couldn’t be done without you. And with the Live Scores issues adding extra work (and a bit of extra spice), you handled it like a champ. Massive thank you.
To everyone who travelled, competed, helped, cooked, cleaned, set targets, ran the office, or simply brought the good vibes—thank you. You’re the reason these weekends work (and why we keep doing it to ourselves).

Thnaks to those that donated some diesel to keep the lights on and drinks cold,

Big congratulations to Oliver Hill for shooting 97/100 and taking out High Gun for SQ #3. Very tidy shooting young man!

Lastly a sincere thanks to Omega Plant Hire for the support and sponsorship over the weekend, events like this are possible because of your support

Got photos from the weekend? Chuck them in the comments (or tag the club) so we can relive the glory… and the occasional ‘interesting’ miss.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the next one—rest up, re-load, and start practicing your best excuses now.

Hey shooters,

The countdown is officially on—less than two weeks until Hastings bursts to life for 2026! The excitement is building, and now’s the perfect time to rally your crew and lock in those nominations. Don’t let your squad miss out—noms are open and spots are filling.

The Omega 100 "Grades event" on Saturday promises to be an absolute cracker. We're talking 100 targets, intense competition, and a whopping $1000 in cash up for grabs for the high gun of the day. That’s not all—there’s ammo and prizes to be won across all grades, so nobody leaves empty-handed.

But wait, the fun doesn’t stop there! After the day’s shooting wraps up, we’ll crank up the suspense with our drawn score event.
Here’s how its going to work. we’ll draw one shooter’s score from Saturday out of the hat, and that lucky shooter, along with the two closest scorers above and below, will go head-to-head in an epic “apex sporting” showdown right out front of the clubhouse. The stakes? Another $1000 cash prize!

A huge shoutout to Omega Plant Hire for supplying all the prizes—make sure to catch up with Kim Halbert and Glenn Povey and show them your appreciation for making this day possible.

And of course, after the days competition, we’ll celebrate with a hearty dinner and a few well-earned cordials, followed by an early night 😊 so we’re fresh and ready for another 100 targets at the SQ3 on Sunday. Bring your A game to saty at the pointy end of the leader board

We can’t wait to see everyone back at the club for 2026. Bring your energy, your team spirit, and your aim—let’s make this one to remember!

We are looking for helpers for the weekend (canteen over the weekend + odd jobs on the Thursday / Friday before, so if you have time and capacity, we would love your help,

See you soon,

Good Morning Shooters,

Following on from our recent post, Hastings Sporting Clays Committee has made the decision to cancel all activities scheduled for Hastings this weekend.

For those that are still keen to assist, there will members at the club from mid morning Thursday April 9th just before the 2 day. There are a few jobs to be done so if you have some capacity in those couple of days many hands will make light work.

Thanks for your understanding and stay safe over the next few days,

We are looking forward to seeing you all for the Omega 100 and SQ3 on April 11/12

regards
Hasting Sporting Clays Committee

Good Morning Shooters,

I wanted to reach out and let everyone know that Hastings has made the decision to cancel this weekend’s planned shoot. The 2 main reason for this are
• Paddocks are currently too dry for us to use safely, and unfortunately, due to this we haven’t been able to secure approval for access this weekend.
• Weather forecast is predicting strong winds and anywhere from 20mm to 100mm on both Saturday and Sunday, depending on which source you trust. If we do get that much rain, getting to the club and shoot grounds could be difficult and will no doubt cause damage to the paddocks.

For now, we’re keeping the Saturday busy bee option on the table, but this will depend on the weather as it develops. We’ll keep you updated as we get closer to the weekend and will send out a final notice no later than Thursday night regarding the busy bee .

Thank you all for your understanding and flexibility.

Good afternoon, shooters! The anticipation is building as we’re now just under four weeks away from the Hastings SQ3 weekend,
This year promises to be bigger and more thrilling than ever. When I say weekend, I mean it—because we’re not just running one event, but two action-packed days that you won’t want to miss.

Saturday kicks off with a brand-new addition to our calendar: the OMEGA 100. This is your shot at glory, with a whopping $4,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs. If you’re aiming for the top, don’t miss out on the $1,000 cash prize for High Gun (Saturday), plus another $1,000 cash available through our “Drawn Score” event after the day’s 100 targets. And when the shooting wraps up, join us for a hearty dinner—just $20 per person—where you can swap stories, celebrate victories, and gear up for day two.

Sunday continues the excitement with the State Qualifier series, so stick around and make sure you get in on the action. Our target setting team has already been busy scouting and preparing some fresh grounds, so expect something different throughout the weekend.

It’s shaping up to be a cracking couple of days—remember, you’ve got to be in it to win it! so keep an eye out for nominations which will open about two weeks before the event,

We Welcome all disciplines and association members and we are looking forward to seeing everyone there for what’s sure to be a memorable weekend!

Please remember
Camping available and free (from Friday am)
Canteen open Saturday and Sunday
Cash Only (no EFTPOS)

Hi everyone,

It seems that we have some cooler weather on the horizon, and that means we're finally allowed back to the club! We're planning a busy bee at Hastings in 2 weeks, and we could use all the help we can get. This will be the Saturday and Sunday of the long weekend: Saturday, February 28th, and Sunday, March 1st.

If you can spare a couple of hours, a day, or even both days, your attendance would be greatly appreciated. Here's what we have planned:

- Finishing the framing of the new shed
- Installing the roof and sides on the shed
- Cleaning the clubhouse
- General tidy up around the facility
- Wood collection

Your help will make a huge difference, and it's also a great opportunity to catch up and have a cordial on Saturday night. Please let us know if you can make it so we can cater for those attending,
Please bring Ladders, Whipper snippers, rakes and wheelbarrows if you have them

Looking forward to seeing you all there!
