That’s a wrap!
Omega 100 + State Qualifier #3 at Hastings is done, The dust has settled and we have had time to unpack, sit back and take a breath.
A huge thanks to everyone who rocked up and made the weekend an absolute cracker. We had 131 shooters across two days—seriously good numbers, great banter, and just enough competitiveness to keep everyone on their toes.
• Great targets and a program that politely suggested some of us need to keep practicing
• Two big dinners (Friday + Saturday) to refuel the engines and restore morale
• Heaps of helpers doing the hard yards and many many offers of “helpful advice”
Targets were spot on and the grounds had a bit of everything—enough to test you, enough to make you mutter into your earmuffs, and plenty of laughs and good banter all weekend.
And the food… how good! Proper dinners on Friday and Saturday night—exactly what you need after a big day of ‘controlled breathing’ and questionable decision-making.
The canteen was stacked with lots of goodies to keep everyone fueled up and friendly. Big thanks to the crew who kept things moving in the canteen.
Huge shout out to the Hastings crew—and the extra hands from other clubs—who got in early and helped get everything ready before the first squad even arrived—target prep, setting, tidy-ups, last-minute fixes… you know…all the glamorous stuff. If you saw someone sprinting around with a spanner or a battery and a look of concern, that was probably one of that lot. We’re always cautious about listing names in case we miss someone, but please know your effort was noticed and genuinely appreciated (even if we didn’t say it until after the dust settled).

Ably led by Coral, with help from Kay, Sharon and Ivy Stippo. Thanks, ladies—brilliant effort all weekend.
And to Smeds and Shippy for tackling the washing up on Saturday night—sorry boys, we know it just kept coming. You two turned dish duty into an endurance event, and we appreciate it.
Office and Chief Raffle Ticket Seller
Sharon—absolutely integral to the successful running of the weekend. It simply couldn’t be done without you. And with the Live Scores issues adding extra work (and a bit of extra spice), you handled it like a champ. Massive thank you.
To everyone who travelled, competed, helped, cooked, cleaned, set targets, ran the office, or simply brought the good vibes—thank you. You’re the reason these weekends work (and why we keep doing it to ourselves).
Thnaks to those that donated some diesel to keep the lights on and drinks cold,
Big congratulations to Oliver Hill for shooting 97/100 and taking out High Gun for SQ #3. Very tidy shooting young man!
Lastly a sincere thanks to Omega Plant Hire for the support and sponsorship over the weekend, events like this are possible because of your support
Got photos from the weekend? Chuck them in the comments (or tag the club) so we can relive the glory… and the occasional ‘interesting’ miss.
Looking forward to seeing you all at the next one—rest up, re-load, and start practicing your best excuses now.
