Pilates is a beautifully intricate movement system, and as teachers, we have so much valuable insight to share to help our clients enhance their practice.
Here are a few ways we can support our clients:
🌸 Be intentional with cues ~ Rather than trying to share everything at once, take a moment to observe how your clients are moving. This allows you to deliver the most relevant cues that will truly benefit them.
🌸 Focus on one element at a time ~ Each class can have a specific focus. One week you might explore breathing, and another might teach shoulder alignment. By gradually introducing these concepts, clients can absorb and integrate them more effectively.
It’s natural to want to guide our clients toward perfection, but progress often comes faster when they’re given the space to move and learn. Even if the movements aren’t perfect, as long as they’re safe, let them experience the practice.
Encourage 👏 improvement over time. Introduce new concepts gradually, allowing clients the time to master each element at their own pace.
Remember, every client learns differently. Embrace the journey of growth, learning, and constant improvement—both for your clients and yourself.
