Over the weekend, the Greta Bunyips took on Shepp Titans in a GF rematch from the previous week...

After not getting close the week before, the Bunyips took it right up to the Titans, posting a respectable 159.. But it wasn't quite enough, as Titans reached the target in the last over!

LMS AUTUMN FINALS DAY

To make the Grand Final, Greta Bunyips had to win 2 successive games, and guess what?!? THEY DID IT!!!

Game 1 vs Northern Jets

After losing the toss and being sent out into the field, the Bunyips started tidily with the ball thanks to an excellent spell from Cody Salafia (3/17 from 4 overs).. the slow bowlers kept it tight during the middle overs, restricting the Jets to 6/136..

The Bunyips mowed the target down in 12.3 overs thanks to 19 ball 50s from Dave Allen and Dane Hansted and progress to the semi final vs Wild Aces

Game 2 vs Wild Aces

After winning the toss and batting 1st, the Bunyips again flew out of the blocks hitting 3 6's in the 2nd over, and 50s again to Dave and Dane (both off 21 balls) helped the Bunyips post 3/171 from their 20 overs!

After a quick start for the Wild Aces in the chase, and consistent batting thru the middle overs the Aces only needed 23 from the last 4 overs.. Enter the "DOUBLE PLAY"!! The Bunyips executing a double play in the 17th and 19th overs leaving Wild Aces 10 to get off the final over! Up steps Cody again to deliver the Bunyips a 2 run victory and a spot in the Grand Final!

GRAND FINAL vs Shepp Titans

After being sent in to bat, the Bunyips were able to post 92, thanks to player of the day Cody smacking 47 off 33 balls!

The Titans showed why the were undefeated in the autumn comp, chasing the target down in the 12th over!

Special thanks to Ash Bettridge and LC Van Krieken for playing the Grand Final for us given Dane and Dave were unable to play...

A fantastic effort from the Bunyips to finish 2nd after losing the first 3 games of the season!

The Last Man Stands Albury-Wodonga & Shepparton winter comp starts next weekend May 30th in Mooroopna!

LMS RULE EXPLAINED:

THE DOUBLE PLAY

Two players can be dismissed off one delivery. A DOUBLE PLAY can only be affected by a Catch

When the Striker is out Caught, the fielding team may Run Out the non-striker, but only at the bowler's end.

The non-striker is only safe once he/she has grounded his/her bat at the bowler's end of the pitch (i.e. behind the popping crease), only once he/she does this, is the ball dead. The bowler is awarded the caught wicket and the team is awarded the run out wicket.
