Things have changed in the BB13 stables. I was struggling with time and motivation with the modified so i made the call to let it go to a new home for some love.

I had a good time with the modified, the racing was incredible and the competition are elite. I was close to success a couple times at Avalon but didn’t really push the development of the car to make many inroads, which I’m sure the new owners will. I was up in the air about selling it, with the help of Hayden Racecars I was proud of the car i built. Very tough decision but..

Exciting times ahead after purchasing a Super Sedan! Racing will be very limited for the next season but hopefully with the limited racing we can get our head around how the car works and start to dial in some setups for future seasons.

The Super is currently #89 but will be changed to #13 next season. This is sentimental to me and maybe some of the Hamilton speedway fans who remember Jim English’s “the beast” super sedan.

I will post a video of a practice session we did on the weekend. Car feels good for the first spin, but as many people have informed me I need to grow a set to drive this thing properly. I will chuck some photos up of the modified also.

Had a trip down memory lane on Saturday night having a spin in a production sedan.

massive thank you to Shane Hammond for trusting me to look after the sushi bus, which I didn’t!

We had a 3rd and a 2nd in the heats then disaster being two decent fires caused from the oil filter getting hit and other electrical issues giving us trouble. It was abit stressful at the time but we got out for the pole shuffle and won. The car had so much pace, we were all begging it to hold on.

Took the green in the final and lead the whole way to the finish. Credit to Piggy for your dedication and commitment to the car. I have seen the ups, downs and the effort. I am stoked to get this result. I thought you were nuts building the sushi bus but the results are starting to show now and it’s only going to get better.

Thanks Colbs, H, Donny, Stubbsy and Pep for all the help to keep it on the track, also the fire crew and other teams that put out the fires.

Thanks Southern 500 speedway for a great track, that suited me perfectly. Well done to all the other competitors and Brownie for putting together a ripper show, the series is shaping up to be super competitive and looks like it could go down to the wire.

Can’t crack it just yet, but we’re getting closer! Having a hell of a time doing it and really enjoying racing modifieds.

Drew the short straw for the first heat, starter 10th and got to 6th on a wet track. I decided to leave the car the same for heat 2, I was starting pole and felt the car would improve once the track wore in. I had Darren starting beside me who got the jump and lead the first few laps, I settled into my line and once the door opened I snuck threw to take the win.

Started 4th in the final, had a major disaster on the first lap ripping all my tare offs off. I was cautious not to get right behind the cars in front to try avoid getting mud on my visor, this cost me because Darren was scooting away out front. Once I moved into second i couldn’t seem to close the gap, I was trying everything until i found the line and started to reel him in, just a little late. Congratulations Darren on the win and Westy on your 3rd.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas 🍻

Last night we headed to Avalon for the Christmas Cup, our heats we had a 5th from 7th and a 1st from 2nd started the final in 3rd to finish in 2nd after a good battle. Round 2 of the VMPA EZprint Series coming up tonight at Rushworth.

Put in a fair few hours on the car since round 1, made a few adjustments with the setup and we picked up a few more pony’s on the dyno. I’m very excited to see how goes. Thanks Pete & Marcus for your help, so much goes into these things behind the scenes, wouldn’t happen without your help.

I have never raced at Rushworth, looking forward to trying a new track. Fingers crossed I have the gearing right because as I am writing this I have realised I left my other diffs at home 🤦‍♂️

First night recap: I chose to start rear of field for all my heats, being unsure if I was going to have any drama with the car or have any pace, it was the right thing to do.

First heat didn’t start off well with a plug lead melting to the exhaust on lap 2, this has happened before so I stayed out there and just got the feel of things, made up a couple spots.

Second heat and the dash were similar to each other, passed some cars, then they went back around me and we raced to the line. This was my first real taste on how good modifieds are, the racing was unreal.

This put me out of 14th for the final, i started very hesitant and just worked into it, visibility wasn’t great starting towards the back. The first half of the race was stop start with a few restarts, this took its toll on the field, once we got consistent laps i started feeling comfortable and ended up in a 3 way battle for the last 12 laps, ended up bringing her home in 7th.

Overall i couldn’t be happier, we did a couple minor adjustments to the car throughout the night, I’m pretty sure we will find some more pace as we make improvements along the way.

Thank you Speedway Wangaratta was a big night for you all, your track is definitely one of my favourites.

Thank you VMPA EZprint Series for making us feel welcome and the organisation made my debut so much easier.

We will be back on track at Rushworth on 14th. Of December for round 2.

Here we go!!

It’s been to long but this weekend we roll out the new car for the first round of the VMPA EZprint Series it’s elbows up, fast, exciting racing and i can’t wait to be apart of it.

I am not expecting to much this weekend other than to get a feel for the different pace of racing, I’m sure it’s going to be a lot of fun and hopefully not get my doors blown off.

This has been the dream since I started racing, I couldn’t do it without my friends, family and sponsors supporting my dream ❤️

No luck in the B Main tonight, but what a fantastic effort from Benno to finish equal 14th on points after the first day, and to start 7th in the B Main in an Australian Title. Just to be here has been a mighty effort and a fun adventure. Be proud Ben! 🙌👏
