Independent Dance Studios (formerly Contemporary Independent Dance) provides dance tuition of the highest standard for girls and boys aged 2 through to adult. IDS is committed to ensuring that every student has the opportunity to develop strong dance technique, offering classes in a professional and fun atmosphere, in state-of-the art studios. Our Pre-Primary & Fairy Ballet program’s for preschoolers are specialised & well regarded for developing coordination, musicality and friendship! IDS classes include: classical ballet, contemporary, theatrical jazz, tap, VCE Dance, acrobatics, lyrical, Progressive Ballet Technique, private coaching, competition teamwork, limber and body conditioning. This weekend was so much more than results.

RSS 2026 REHEARSAL COMPLETE ✔️

Congratulations to our incredible students on a successful RSS rehearsal this afternoon. Thank you to our wonderful parents for joining us as we rehearsed one final time with an audience.

We were so proud of each and every student and their dedicated approach to this rehearsal. Your commitment, focus and determination to perform as a united team truly shone bright.

We wish all of our teams great success and, most importantly, plenty of joy as they take to the stage at Southern Dance Festival next weekend, followed by the highlight of our competition year the following weekend at RSS Ballarat.

A special thank you to Miss Keyane for visiting us once again this afternoon and working with our 8U Jazz team.

A huge thank you to Miss Bella for her beautiful work with our sweet 6U team, and to Miss Indi for her wonderful support across our 8U and 10U teams.

And, of course, our heartfelt thanks to our dear Miss Kayla for your endless support across all of our teams. We are so incredibly grateful for everything you do.

2027 CLASSICAL TRAINING PATHWAYS

We are excited to announce our 2027 Classical Training Pathways at IDS.

Designed for aspiring young dancers showing promise and potential in classical ballet, our programs provide tailored pathways from additional classical training through to our renowned Half Day Classical Extension Program, all while allowing dancers to remain close to home.

Entering its 10th year, our Half Day CEP has supported dancers who have gone on to Queensland Ballet Academy, Tanya Pearson Academy, VCASS, The Australian Ballet School ITP, National Theatre Ballet School, SCIMM, En Pointe Full Time Victoria and other leading training programs.

Our students have also achieved top VCE/VET Dance results, competition championships and aggregate awards, with many going on to become confident, independent dance teachers.

We are proud to provide high level classical training that develops strong, well rounded dancers and keeps future pathways open.
