The ASBK and historic motorcycle racing community is mourning the passing of Darren Lark.
Darren, 55, was the epitome of dedication in whatever he did: with friends, family, across the historic racing landscape, and helping to ‘rally’ the troops to make sure the Superbike Masters grids at the ASBK rounds were bursting with big names on iconic bikes.
He’d also make himself available at any hour of the day, without any personal gain: it was all about helping to keep the historic ‘show’ humming along.
And he achieved that with charm and irresistible passion: at the recent Sydney Motorsport Park ASBK round the Superbike Masters riders and ex-Aussie circuit racing legends again thrilled the crowd. And that gave Darren immense satisfaction.
And once he had the logistics and riders sorted – not always the easiest task… – he’d throw a leg over a bike himself to keep the smiles flowing.
RIP Darren Lark: you’ve left a massive void in local motorcycle racing. He was the real legend, and his legacy is immense.
***UPDATE*** In accordance with Darren's wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. Instead, there will be a celebration of life with details to be provided at a later date.
