Robin Surfboards

Robin Surfboards Robin Surfboards are high quality, hand crafted, South Australian made surfboards. Shapes by compute I'm interested in building surfboards with flavour.

If you're after a plain white 6'2 thruster, then you've come to the wrong place. I enjoy resin tints, working with timber and vacuum bagging and am open to 'out of the box' thinking and concepts. I'm comfortable using epoxy or polyester resin systems. I work out of 'The Ding King' factory at Hackham and have been taught by some of the best in the industry. Factory address is 9 Chapman Road, Hackham SA

I like to send screenshots of my design to the client for approval before cutting on our CNC machine, and follow up with progress shots to keep you in the loop.

Board design

Cutting the bottom

The final cut

Cutting lines removed and final tweaks by hand. Mark out and route fin box holes. Mark up channels following the toe-in on the boxes.

Channels shaped

Close up of the channels

From the nose

Setting the futures fin boxes using the setup jigs

Laminating the bottom

Hand drawn detail on the foam under the bottom laminate

Glassing the deck with a deck patch using orange resin tint

Putting the decals on

Hot coats

After the board was sanded I put a finish coat of resin on the bottom

The deck received a fine pin line to really finish it off then the final coat of resin was applied
