Dancing to wonderful music from countries around the world!
Travel the world of exotic music and dance. Suitable for all ages, and all levels of dance experience, Beginner classes offer a wonderful pathway into dance cultures across the globe. We are a unique and welcoming community providing physical and social well-being through world dance. No partner necessary.

Evening and day classes starting from 5 February 2025:

Bulgarian Dance Workshops with Dr Gergana Panova - What an exciting way to start the new year!
Dr Gergana Panova, a world-renowned choreographer and folk dance teacher, is coming to Canberra to present two workshops. As a young person, Gergana danced as a soloist with the National Ensemble of Bulgaria. She then devoted herself to folk dance research as a professor at the Bulgarian Academy of Science. Gergana has given over 300 workshops in Bulgarian dance over four continents and now teaches at the Folkwang University in Essen, Germany.
WHEN: Saturday morning, 18th and Sunday morning, 19th January, 9:30am-12:30pm

FOLK DANCE AUSTRALIA Presents LESLEY ROSE With A Workshop

COST: FDA members $20 ($25 non-members) Morning tea provided, BYO Lunch
Lesley has been teaching international folk dancing in Canberra since 1996 (and loving every minute) after completing the FDA Recreational Folk Dancing Teacher Training Course. With a background in classical ballet, tap dancing and modern, the variety of dance styles and rhythms found in folk dancing are a natural fit. Attending workshops overseas in Romania, Bulgaria, Armenia, Albania and the Netherlands, as well as several Israeli workshops here in Australia with renowned overseas teachers, has enhanced her understanding and appreciation for dance styles of other cultures and the desire to learn more. The workshop will feature dances from several countries, including Romania, Turkey and Macedonia.
