OUR FIRST NIGHT - A SURVIVAL GUIDE
Our first night of the season starts tonight commencing at 5.30pm
The first few weeks of our season are a little busy, so here are a few reminders to help you feel more prepared.....
* Full and correct uniform must be always worn by athletes (except our tiny tots and trialists). Lenience will be given for the first few weeks of the season.
#οΈβ£ Old registration numbers can remain on shirts until new one arrives. If you have not received your registration number yet, please write your athlete's rego number on the back of their hand to minimise delays at the finish line.
* All athletes are required to wear appropriate shoes.
* Many hands make light work, our nights donβt run themselves and parent help is essential. Tasks for parents include spiking, tape pulling, retrieving, tape reading, recording. Age groups will not commence their Friday night program without a Team Leader.
* Little Athletics IS NOT a 'drop and go' sport. An adult (parent or carer/guardian) must remain with their child (u6 to U17) for the duration of the event. If you have more than one child, and you are on your own, stay with the child that needs your attention, we just need to know that youβre available if required.
* Our nights commence 5.30pm with announcements and warm up. First event starts 6.00pm
* If you are trialling, please arrive a little earlier than 5.30pm and complete the triallist form at the finish line tables. Remember returning athletes must be registered to participate β they cannot sign the trialist form!
* NO pets are permitted on the grounds. Please leave your furbabies at home.
* Please be patient! We have many children who are trying athletics for the first time, so things will run a little slower than normal. It will get quicker once everyone starts to develop their skills and become more familiar with the program.
* Lastly, have fun! Our focus is on 'being your best' not beating others, so just aim for those personal bests!
We really hope you enjoy being part of 'Team Gympieβ ππ
