www.gympiehockey.org.au A state of the art artificial surface field and 5 grass fields are utilised.

The Gympie Hockey fields are situated at Ramsey Park, Cnr Power and Woolgar Roads, Southside, Gympie. Fixtures are conducted by the Association with Hook In2 Hockey for Under 7's and competitions ranging from Under 9 to Youth. Development programs for players and umpires are also conducted within our association. A sign-on day is held in February each year with the Hockey season beginning in March. Finals are played in September.

Looking for a fun, active and affordable sport for your child?

Hook in2 Hockey is the perfect beginner program for kids who want to learn hockey, make new friends and build confidence in a supportive environment.

Whether your child has never picked up a hockey stick before or just wants to give something new a try, we'd love to welcome them along.

CELEBRATING OUR AMAZING MASTERS WOMEN

This weekend gone our incredible Masters Women proudly represented Gympie Hockey, and while they may not have come home with a placing, they certainly came home with something just as important, wonderful memories, new friendships, plenty of laughs and a fantastic team experience.

Representative hockey isn't always about medals. It's about challenging yourself, connecting with teammates, representing your club with pride and showing that hockey really is a sport for life.

We are incredibly proud of every player who pulled on the Gympie colours and gave it their all throughout the tournament.

And we have some extra exciting news...

Congratulations to Tanya Bothams and Rozan Daly on their selection in the Queensland 50+ Women's Team!

Well done ladies! You have represented Gympie Hockey beautifully and we couldn't be prouder.

Another big week of hockey ahead! Please check the attached draw for your game times.

A few important reminders as we head into the school holiday period:

Seniors - Senior competitions are now back to normal and will continue right through the school holidays with no break.

Youth - This Friday is your last game before a short break.

❌ No Youth games: 26 June & 3 July
✅ Youth returns: 10 July

Juniors - This Saturday is your last game weekend before the holidays.

❌ No Junior games: 27 June & 4 July
✅ Junior games return: 11 July

Good news! Training will still be running next week for all age groups.

Hook in2 Hockey - This Saturday is your final session for the term. We'll be back next term and we'd love to see everyone return!

What a Day for Hockey!
Today we welcomed teams from Bundaberg, Fraser Coast and Sunshine Coast to Gympie for our U14 Gala Day, and what an incredible day it was.

The results on the scoreboard were great, but the real win was seeing so many young players out on the field doing what they love - competing hard, making new friends, supporting teammates and creating memories that will last well beyond the final whistle.

To our visitors, thank you for making the trip and being part of something special. We are so grateful for your support in helping create these opportunities for our regional players.

To our own Gympie players, coaches and families, your excitement, sportsmanship and team spirit made us incredibly proud. Our U14 teams had the absolute best day.

A huge thank you must go to the many volunteers who worked behind the scenes to make the day possible. From setting up fields, umpiring, coaching, managing teams, running the canteen and coffee machine, cooking burgers, helping with scoring and pack-down, and a hundred other jobs that nobody sees - this day simply does not happen without you.

Days like this remind us what community sport is all about. It takes a village to create opportunities for our kids, and today was a beautiful example of what can happen when hockey communities come together.

Thank you to everyone who played a part. We hope all players left tired, smiling and even more excited for the championships ahead.

U14 GALA DAY THIS SUNDAY!

If you love hockey, this is the place to be this Sunday!

Our Gympie U14 Boys and Girls teams will be taking on teams from Bundaberg, Fraser Coast and Sunshine Coast in a full day of hockey as they prepare for their upcoming State Championships.

This is a fantastic opportunity for our players to test themselves against other regions, build combinations and gain valuable match experience before they head away to represent Gympie.

☕ Coffee will be brewing.
🍔 The canteen will be running all day with hot food and cold drinks.
🏑 Plenty of great hockey from some of the best young players in our region.

This week our incredible Gympie Masters Women head to Brisbane to compete in the 2026 Hockey Queensland Women's Masters State Championships.

These ladies represent everything that is great about community hockey - friendship, commitment, resilience, passion and a love of the game. Many have spent countless hours volunteering, coaching, managing teams and supporting our club, all while continuing to lace up their shoes and take the field themselves.

We are incredibly proud to have you representing Gympie Hockey on the state stage.

To all of our players, coaches, managers, umpires and supporters travelling this week, enjoy every moment, play hard, make memories and have fun!

📢 Junior Players & Parents
Please refer back to Monday's post for your player’s team allocation for the next two weeks as we play our Girls vs Girls and Boys vs Boys format across the junior divisions.

🏑 Training Wednesday
All junior players will train with their Girls vs Girls / Boys vs Boys coach this week, so please check your team lists before arriving.

💙 Women's Competition
There will be no Women's games this Friday night due to our Women's Masters players being away representing our region.

🍔 Canteen Volunteers Needed
With a number of our regular volunteers away at Masters, we are a little short-handed in the canteen this weekend.

If you can spare even 30 minutes before, during or after your child's game, it would be greatly appreciated. Our canteen is a huge part of what keeps our club running and helps us keep costs down for everyone.

Thank you to all of our players, parents, coaches, managers, umpires and volunteers who make hockey happen each week.

JUNIOR HOCKEY UPDATE – NEXT 2 WEEKS

Over the next two weeks, our junior players will be playing and training in Girls vs Girls and Boys vs Boys teams across all age groups.

📋 Team lists have been attached, with coaches listed at the top of each team.

Players will also train in these teams for the next two weeks to give coaches and players the opportunity to work together and prepare for the games.

🏑 U12 Representative Players
For those who have nominated for our U12 representative teams, these games will form the selection process and give coaches the opportunity to see players in game situations. (All players who nominated will make a team - this will determine the teams)

🦺 To make things simple, all teams will wear bibs during these games, so there is no need to worry about uniform colours.

🌱 U9 Full Field Hockey
Our U9 players will be playing full-field hockey over the next two weeks. To help make this a great experience and guide our younger players around the larger field, we have invited a number of U12 players to join the U9 games.

🏑 Turf Allocation
To ensure everyone gets an opportunity on the turf:
💙 This week all Girls teams will play on the turf.
💙 Next week all Boys teams will play on the turf.

This will apply across all junior age groups.

A huge thank you to our coaches and volunteers for helping make this happen. We're looking forward to two fun weeks of hockey, skill development and giving players the opportunity to play alongside and against a wider range of players.

A huge congratulations to the Wide Bay 16–19 Years Boys Team, who have finished their State Championships with an incredible Silver Medal!

We're especially proud of the five Gympie boys who were part of this achievement and represented both Wide Bay and our club with pride throughout the tournament.

Congratulations Jake, Johnny, Kile, Hamish and Joe! Your Gympie Hockey family is incredibly proud of you.

A huge congratulations to our three Gympie boys, Clay, Ty and Lachlan who represented Wide Bay at the 13–15 Years School Sport State Championships this week.

While the team didn't achieve the results they were hoping for on the scoreboard, being selected to represent your region is a fantastic achievement in itself. The commitment, training, travel and dedication required to reach this level should be celebrated.

Well done boys, your hockey community is proud of you!

Meanwhile, the 16–19 Years Wide Bay team will be playing for Gold today 🥇

We have five Gympie players in that squad, and we are sending them all our best wishes as they take the field in the championship match.

Good luck boys! We're all cheering for you and can't wait to hear the result.
