Victory Heights Jumps Line Update

A huge amount of volunteer time and effort has gone into making this happen and the first half of the jumps line is now officially open! Thanks to everybody who stayed off it during construction, its come together amazingly well.

The second half of the right-hand line remains a work in progress, however the left-hand line is open all the way to the bottom.

The first gap onto the platform is intentionally a “squirrel catcher”, it’s designed to ensure riders have the skills and commitment required for the features that follow……. Please remember this is an advanced trail. Pre-ride, re-ride, then free-ride.

While we have installed a lockable gate to close the trail during wet weather (it will shut regularly, especially while the work is soft and new). Please use common sense and stay off the trail whenever it’s wet or soft, regardless of whether the gate is locked. Jump trails are particularly susceptible to damage and a few riders can undo months of volunteer work very quickly.

A thank you to Ken West for the edit he has made of the trail below (and the park in general)

There’s proposed e-bike legislation currently under review in Queensland that could have some serious but presumably unintended consequences for mountain bike riding.

As it stands, the proposal applies a blanket 10 km/h speed limit to all shared paths for ALL e-bikes, including fully compliant e MTB's — and the definition appears broad enough to include many off-road trails where pedestrians may reasonably be present.

While this doesn’t impact analogue bikes, it could effectively limit eMTBs to 10 km/h on these trails — making them impractical to ride on any trails or networks considered shared use.

It also removes the ability for kids under 16 to ride eMTBs at all on any trail, even under parent supervision, as there is no supervised use exemption for under 16 riders for any type of eBike.

In simple terms — it doesn’t ban eMTBs outright, but it makes them very difficult to use in any meaningful way on most shared trail networks.

If you don't, (or do, I guess) want this to happen have your say during the public consultation period
