🏐 MIXED NETBALL IS COMING TO GYMPIE! 🏐
Gympie Netball will be holding a Mixed Netball Competition over Winter — and team registrations are now OPEN!
Mixed netball combines men and women on the court, offering a fun, social, and inclusive way to enjoy the sport while building teamwork, confidence, and skills.

📅 Starts: Wednesday 15 July
⏱ Runs for 10 weeks
💲 Cost: $169 per player ($105 if already registered with current competition)
📍 Wednesday night competition: 6pm, 7pm & 8pm games

🏐 WHAT A FANTASTIC DAY! 🏐

Our first carnival hosted at Gympie Netball was a huge success, and we are so grateful to everyone who helped make the day possible.

It was wonderful to welcome the visiting schools from the Kingaroy, Nanango, & Murgon areas and see so many Gympie schools enjoying a great day of netball, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

A massive thank you goes to our amazing volunteer parents — we truly could not have done it without your help and support throughout the day. From setting up, helping in the canteen, packing up, and everything in between, your contribution was invaluable. THANK YOU, Sarah Lawler, Sally & Abby Rogers, Julie White, Kass Amos, Holly Shannon and Colleen Miller

Let's talk about umpire dissent.

During our court walk on Monday, we were disappointed to hear a number of players questioning and grumbling about umpire decisions. While it's true that umpires don't get every call right, neither do even the most experienced AAA-badged umpires. Mistakes are part of every sport, whether you're a player, coach or official.

Before criticising a decision, consider whether you are completely familiar with the rules and whether you have ever stood in an umpire's shoes and made split-second decisions from their perspective. Umpiring is not easy, and the view from the court can be very different from the view from the sideline.

We ask all players to show respect for our officials and refrain from questioning or commenting on their decisions. Constant criticism and dissent create a negative environment and risk discouraging people from umpiring. Without umpires, we simply don't have a game.

Let's all do our part to support and respect our officials so they can continue to enjoy their role and help our sport thrive.

Jewellery Reminder – Netball Rules

In accordance with Netball rules, all jewellery must be removed before taking the court. This includes:
Earrings
Nose rings and other facial piercings
Necklaces
Rings
Bracelets and anklets

These rules are in place to ensure the safety of all players, umpires, and officials, and will be strictly enforced.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us provide a safe playing environment for everyone.
