Who's keen to give it a go in 2024?

Day 3 was the 6K Team event. By this point we had figured out what to expect and overcame obstacles we hadn't in previous days, which was an amazing feeling. Once again being a longer course there wasn't many places to see obstacles without trudging for Kms.

This whole competition was an amazing experience, which was made greater by all my fellow athletes, support staff and supporters who made the trip over to Europe.
If any of you are reading and watching this, I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone for all the memories and I am looking forward to competing with you all in the future! Costa Rica 2024 πŸ‡¨πŸ‡·πŸ€™πŸ’ͺ

The friendships and connections I have made through the OCR community and at the OCRWC have been amazing. Thank you to everyone who I had the opportunity and privilege to train and run with; your tips and advice have helped immensely.

Last but certainly not least I would like to make a special mention to my fiancé Rachel McAuliffe. Without her unwavering support I know I would still be wondering what it would've been like to compete.❀️

Stay tuned for what the future holds...

The 15km on Day 2 was a lot harder to get photos as a majority of the race was trail running away from spectators but here are a few shots of some of the things we overcame.

This was the highlight that I spoke about. It was an obstacle that a lot of competitors were failing at and I also failed in the previous two races. It comprised of swinging dip bars, a transfer to a vertical rope and then horizontal offset bars to the bell at the end. Rachel cut the filming short but there was a celebratory yell when I finished where I was told by an official not to swear πŸ˜‚

I damaged my shoulder on this obstacle.

What a whirlwind of a weekend! The speed and strength of all the athletes has been unreal to watch and compete a long side.
The first event was the 3k and it was like nothing we had seen in an endurance OCR event in Australia, with a lot of the top contenders struggling to make it through the course without penalties. It was like a ninja warrior course on steroids with intense running thrown in.
The 15k was more of what we were used to in Australia and now that we had seen and experienced the ninja style obstacles we all had a higher success rate and it was a more enjoyable course.
Yesterday, the Team 6k was the best of the three races. Running out with your fellow Aussies did wonders for everyone's moral and it was the highest success rate of the weekend with most people, including myself, making it through without loosing penalty arm bands.

A personal highlight for me was completing the final technical obstacle in the team race that I had failed in the previous 2 races which was swinging dip bars to a rope transition and then swinging offset bars to the bell.

Over the next few days I will be putting up some photos and videos of the event so you can see some of the obstacles we came across. But for now it's time for a well earned holiday. Thank you all once again for your support, It means the world to me and I hope I have done you all proud.
