⚽ Matrix Steel Men’s Teams vs Buderim FC ⚽

A big night at home for our Matrix Steel Men’s teams, with plenty of action and entertainment for the Gympie faithful!

Our U23’s found themselves 2-0 down but showed tremendous character to fight their way back into the match and earn a well-deserved draw. It was an exciting contest from start to finish, with the boys refusing to give in and being rewarded for their efforts.

Our Premier Men were unfortunately on the wrong side of the result despite a strong performance. Buderim struck early before the boys thought they had found an equaliser, only for the goal to be ruled offside. Buderim then grabbed a second right on half-time.

The second half was shaping up well for the home side until Buderim hit on the counter-attack to make it 3-0. The boys again had another goal ruled out for offside before Nathan Tomlinson produced a quality finish to pull one back and make it 3-1. Despite the scoreline, the lads controlled large periods of the game and were unlucky not to come away with a result.

A huge thank you to everyone who came down and supported both teams on the night. The atmosphere was fantastic and showed what true Gympie spirit is all about! 💙💛

The lads hit the road this Saturday as they take on Baringa FC. We appreciate all the support and hope to see plenty of Gympie supporters there!

Our Women’s teams were on the road this weekend taking on Maroochydore FC.

Our U23’s battled hard in a tough contest, earning a well-deserved 0-0 draw. The ladies fought tooth and nail throughout the match, showing great determination to keep a clean sheet while creating chances at the other end. A fantastic team effort and a valuable point on the road!

Our Premier Women unfortunately went down 5-0 against a strong Maroochydore side. Despite the result, the girls continued to work hard and will take plenty of lessons into next week’s fixture.

The Women’s teams return home this Friday night as they take on Noosa in front of the home crowd. Get down and show your support! 💙

Gympie United Football Club would like to extend a huge thank you to Kitiwah Place Early Learning Centre for their generous sponsorship of our female football program.

Thanks to your support, our players can now travel to away games together in comfort, making the journey just as enjoyable as the football itself! The bus provides a fun, safe, and easy way for our women to travel, helping build team spirit, friendships, and memories long before they even step onto the field.

For many of our players, the bus rides will become a highlight of game day – sharing laughs, supporting one another, and representing Gympie United together wherever they play.

Today our U16 Division 1 team travelled to Kawana, and while the result on the field was important, what happened off the field reminded us what football is really about.

Unfortunately, one of our players suffered a serious injury during the match and required ambulance assistance. It was a very worrying time for everyone involved.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone at Kawana Football Club. The care, compassion and support shown to our player, family, coaches and supporters was absolutely outstanding. From the moment the injury occurred, your club treated our player as if he was one of your own.

The concern, kindness and genuine care shown by your volunteers, officials and members did not go unnoticed and is a true reflection of the values of your club.

On behalf of everyone at Gympie United Football Club, thank you for your support during a difficult situation. Football is more than just a game, and today you demonstrated exactly what our football community is all about.

We wish our player a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back doing what he loves.

🔵🟡MATCHDAY – MATRIX STEEL MEN’S TEAMS vs BUDERIM 🔵🟡

After a tough outing in the reverse fixture, our Matrix Steel Men’s sides are ready to bounce back on home soil today!

Our U23’s suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat after Buderim found the back of the net in the opening minute. The boys will be looking to put in a strong performance and turn the result around this time around.

The Prem Men’s side went down 3-0 in the previous meeting after a red card left us with a mountain to climb for much of the second half. Since then, the boys have shown plenty of character and will be looking to continue their recent form in front of a home crowd.

🏇 Once you’re finished at the races, make sure you head down and get around the boys – we need your support!
