Please note the following changes to our Week 9 Development Programs - Friday 18 & Saturday 19 September.

❗ FRIDAY 18 SEPTEMBER - MINI HAWKS

Mini Hawks will have a time and venue change for this week only due to a schools tournament being held at the Snakepit.

⏰ 11:45am - 12:30pm
📍 Beaton Park Leisure Centre

❗ SATURDAY 19 SEPTEMBER - ALL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS

All Saturday Development Programs will take place at Berkeley - Illawarra Sports & Community Precinct this week due to Prep 4 Rep being held at the Snakepit.

All program times will remain the same:

⏰ 9:10am - 5-7 & 8-10 Years Game Time

🏀 HAWKS ATHLETES - YOUR NEXT STEP STARTS HERE! 🏀

Are you a U14 or U15 Hawks athlete born in 2013 or 2014?

The Illawarra Academy of Sport (IAS) Basketball Program is inviting eligible athletes to trial for the 2026/27 Regional Academy - providing an opportunity to access quality coaching and professional support as you progress through the Basketball NSW Development Pathway.

For 2026/27, Basketball NSW has changed the Regional Academy structure, with each Regional Academy selecting a squad of up to 16 boys and 16 girls across the U14-U15 age groups.

🏀 WHO CAN TRIAL?
• Born in 2013 or 2014
• Reside within one of the five LGAs that make up the IAS region
• Currently playing representative basketball

📅 TRIAL #1
Sunday 20 September
📍 Shoalhaven Indoor Sport Centre
⏰ 10:00am start

🏀 TRIAL #2
By invitation only - details TBC

🏀 Congratulations to our Junior Illawarra Hawks athletes selected for the Southern Cross Challenge! 🦅

We’re incredibly proud to see five of our athletes selected to compete at the SCC, taking on development squads from across Australia and gaining valuable experience in a high-level tournament environment.

The Southern Cross Challenge brings together some of the country’s best young athletes from U14 and U15 programs across Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and the ACT.

It’s an exciting opportunity to compete against top-level talent, continue developing your game and gain valuable experience that can help prepare you for potential State Team opportunities in the future. 👏🏀

We’re incredibly proud to see five of our athletes selected to compete at the ACJBC, representing the Illawarra and testing themselves against some of the best young basketball talent from across Australia and New Zealand.

The ACJBC has a proud history of developing young players, with more than 60 teams and 700 players, coaches and officials coming together each year across the U14, U16 and U18 age groups.

We’re incredibly proud to see 15 of our athletes selected to represent the Illawarra at the BNSW D-League in Penrith across September and October.

The D-League brings together talented players from the Waratah Junior Leagues to train, play and develop alongside some of the best young athletes from across NSW in a tournament-style environment.
