For mums, junior cricket is never just about the runs, wickets or results.
Itâs the early starts and late afternoons, the car rides to training and games, the last-minute hunt for a hat or a water bottle, and settling in on the boundary for another day at the cricket fields.
Itâs the days they come off after a duck, trying hard to hide the disappointment. And on the rare, unforgettable days, itâs watching them make a century or take a hat-trick, the kind of moments that have every mum smiling a little wider.
Itâs cheering every run, clapping every effort, helping with the scoring, and knowing exactly when a player needs a few quiet words after a hard day.
Itâs watching confidence grow, friendships form, resilience build, and seeing kids learn how to handle both the good days and the tough ones.
Somewhere along the way, cricket becomes more than a game. It becomes shared time, familiar faces, sideline conversations, and memories that stay with you long after the season is over.
This Motherâs Day, we thank all the mums, grandmothers and aunties who make junior cricket possible. đđ
