Minor Pairs Update.
Following their good win over Kristy McIlveen and Rhonda Fordham in their quarter final matchup Tom Bartman and Rocky Morgan have progressed to the semi final contest this Saturday at 10.00am with Angela and Patrina Marshall. In the last quarter final match to be decided John Clark and Brett Green will go head to head with Phil Donnelly and Brodie Towns on Sunday at 10.00am with the winner moving onto the semi final against Chris Gallacher and Keith Hubbard. Good luck to all bowlers in both matches.

Great for social bowls on Sunday results were kristy mcilveen rick mackensie and Wayne campbell D brock beasley joanne briggs and sam pryor 14-12 phill woolaston lou flett and mark boyd D mike zsabo charli cameron and peter eather 12-11 and lyla peter baker john clark D kevin keating buck fordham and mick hull 17-11 Social will continue this Wednesday and also sunday names in by 9-30 to start at 10 contact for this week is john clark 0427356518 This week’s raffle duties is wayne campbell and john clark the new roster will be up soon

A busy weekend at Club Gunnedah Bowls with the conclusion of Round 1 matches in the Club Minor Pairs. On Saturday it was a battle of the families with Angela and Patrina Marshall taking on Greg and Nathan Barnes. Team Marshall came out on top in a close contest 18 to 14. A great day for bowls on Sunday saw 34 bowlers on the green with 4 Minor Pairs matches and 18 social bowlers playing in perfect winter conditions. In the final two round 1 Minor Pairs matches Tommy Bartman and Rocky Morgan were in good form securing the win over Bruce Cameron and Barry Robbins 18 to 13. Ash Mundy and Brody Towns proved too good for Lea Martin and Steve Martin winning 22 to 10.
Quarter final action in the Minor Pairs saw Angela and Patrina Marshall taking on Sheree Wheeler and Cindy Williams. Team Marshall proved too consistent over the 18 ends securing a spot in the semi-finals with a 20 to 14 win. Jason Williams and Brian Woods played Chris Gallacher and Keith Hubbard in the other quarter final and this match went right down to the wire. with multiple lead changes. Going in the final end Gallacher and Hubbard led by 1 shot but after a great bowl by Jason Willliams gave the advantage to the Williams/Woods combination the match was in the balance. Chris Gallacher then played a superb shot to take back control of the match giving Team Hubbard the win and a spot in the semi-finals.

Draw for the 2026 Club Minor Pairs Championship has been completed. Round 1 matches can be played by mutual agreement with your opponent on either Sunday 31st of May of Sunday 7th of June with matches to commence at 10.00am. If these days are not suitable teams can organise a time that suits all players. Please be advised that the club bar will only be open only for matches scheduled for Sundays. Can teams advise Club Secretary, John Clark, when they are planning to play their matches. Thanks everyone for your cooperation.

The final of the Club Minor Singles Championships was played on Sunday with Barry Robbins winning 25 to 15 over John Clark in a high quality match. Barry was in superlative form and his overall consistency and ability to pull out the big conversion shots proved the difference. Congratulations to Barry on the win and earning a well deserved promotion to A grade for next season.

In social bowls matches played on Sunday Tommy Bartman and Brian Woods defeated Rick McKenzie and Thomas Foy 22 to 4. Mick Hull and Leanne Pryor defeated Lou Flett and Kristy McIlveen 18 to 10. Blue Campbell and Rocky Morgan defeated Buck Fordham and Harry Major (Park Beach Bowling Club) 17 to 13 and Bruce Cameron and Mike Szabo won a thriller over Freddy Pryor and Phil Woolaston 13 to 12.
The winners of the $30 vouchers were Rocky Morgan, Phil Woolaston and Mike Szabo.

Wednesday social bowls will be on at 9.30am and Sunday Social Bowls has a new starting time with names in by 9.30am for a10.00am start.
