I love this photo. Two gorgeous little boys helping their mums train. Who says you can't train when you have little ones!! I particularly loved dancing with the boys at the end while their mums did some mobility work.

Thursday evening HIIT classes start again this week. They are a great way of fitting in a short and sharp cardio and strength session. Only 45 minutes and you're done. We can all fit in that amount of time for some exercise. No excuses!!

There are a few spots available so let me know if you are interested. This will be run as a 5 week block with total cost just $75.

I know, it's been a very long time since I've posted on here. Truth be told, I'd prefer to be out doing what I love doing rather than be on social media!

But my new years resolution is to get back on top of some of the things I've let slide. I know for many of you that might be looking after your health and fitness. It's not surprising that some of the top new years resolutions are to do more exercise, eat better, drink less alcohol and stress less. The problem with a lot of these is that people go hell for leather and dive into it all guns blazing and then quickly give up when it all seems too hard.

Wouldn't it be better to take things one step at a time and slowly make a change to your lifestyle that is sustainable and becomes part of your norm. You could start by thinking about your breakfast and making changes to that until that becomes second nature. You could also include some low level exercise a couple of days a week at the same time. Once that seems easy you could move onto a change to your lunch or your snacks and maybe add another day of exercise or increase the intensity on the days that you already exercise. All of these should happen over weeks or months not days. Before you know it a healthy lifestyle will be what you are following on a daily basis with the "unhealthy" days being the minority.

Start thinking about what you could change now that is easy to follow and maintain. Don't make it hard and a struggle! I'm more than happy to talk to you about some easy suggestions and help point you in the right direction.

Here's to a great 2017!!

Just a reminder to everyone about the cancellation and payment policies. I have always been very flexible and accomodating when it comes to training times and payment, however, this is my income, not a hobby, and I have a family, bills, etc just like everyone else. It would be much appreciated if you all have a read of this. Thank you.

- Cancellation of a PT session within 12 hrs of the start time incurs a rate of 50% of the cost.

- Cancellation of a PT session within 2hrs of the start time incurs a rate of full payment of the session.

- Payments for all sessions (both PT and the start of a block of group sessions) must be made prior to the session commencing.

- Up to 1 week late payment will incur an additional cost of 10% of the total cost, 2 weeks is 20%, 3 weeks is 30%, and so on.

A very important article to read that covers why it is so important that we exercise. I like that it places the spotlight on the positives associated with increased muscle mass, bone density and metabolism, along with the hormonal benefits, rather than it being all about calorie burning. Have a read.

Let’s get one thing straight: exercise is not about “burning calories”. The amount of calories you actually burn exercising compared to sitting and doing nothing is not really that much. It certainly adds up very slowly when you consider that 3500 calories is equivalent to one pound of stored ene...
