We all made it safely back to Canberra in the early hours of the morning. What a fantastic weekend we all had at Rebellion 2018. Thank you so much to our amazing hosts Melbourne Northside Rollers, this was such a well organised, fun tournament, we were so happy to be part of it for the first time this year.

Thank you also to all the volunteers, referees and NSOs who we couldn't do this without. We'd like to offer a special mention to our very own Denominator (Martyn) for all his hard work over the weekend. He is a great rep for Varsity Derby League, he's always smiley and supportive whilst being totally profesional when he needs to be on the track. We really appreciate you Noms!

To our amazing support crew: Our bench coach Copter, you have been such a huge player in developing this squad from such a mixed bag at the start of the year to 2nd place in our first Division One tournament this year. Everything you bring to the team is so well thought out and clever. You have built such a smart, strong squad this year. Your dedication to training within our league is amazing and we'd be lost without you, it's definitely an A+ from us ;)

To our Line up Manager Ed uHater (Halie). We are so grateful that you were willing to step up to this challenge and we all know that you totally smashed. You were so orgainsed and adaptable over the weekend and you really managed our bench well, keeping it chilled and calm while focusing on nailing the line ups every time. We appreciate you so much. We know it would have been difficult being there, but not being able to be on track due to injury, and we definitely missed you out there too. So we applaud you digging in and sticking with the team to continue helping us reach our goals!

We would like to thank our opponents, Adelaide Roller Derby's rAdelaides, Convict City Roller Derby League's Orange Thunder and Victorian Roller Derby League's The Notorious VICs. You all challenged us in such different ways and we have learnt so much from you all. Hopefully we'll all meet again soon. What a great way to end our tournament season.

Finally to this team, we did it! We crushed all of our goals this year. We had a rough start and had no idea where the year would take us. We were resilient and we bonded so well together both on and off the track. We developed into such a tight squad so quickly and completely exceeded our own expectations time and time again. This is for us, for all our hard work and time on skates and working together. Doing the drill, being the drill! So excited for next season!

The DisHonour Rollers had a fantastic first day at Rebellion 2018 yesterday with two wins, firstly against the rAdelaidies from Adelaide Roller Derby 392 - 113 and then against the Orange Thunder from Convict City Roller Derby League 181 - 147.

We now face Victorian Roller Derby League's notorious VIC's in the grand final today at 4:15pm on track 1 and we're really excited to play them for the second time this year.

💖💕💓

Varsity Derby League attended a Pink Ribbon Breakfast on the weekend hosted by our very own B**b One-ic Plague. 💖

B**b was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer in 2016 at the age of 47. She underwent months of harsh treatments, immunotherapy, radiation and surgery, and hoped, like many others with the pink cancer, she would be cured.

B**b started roller skating with Varsity's rookies whilst she was still under going treatments. She did this to help regain her fitness and strength - she also took up dragon boat racing!!

"I love skating and I love the people who derby - amazing humans"

Varsity's trainers have said "We love her so much. She is an amazing, inspiring woman despite everything she has been through."

After February this year, B**b was declared cancer free. However 6 weeks ago she found out her headaches were due to cancer metastasising in her brain. Since then B**b has been back on medication and has under gone more radiation to kill them off. She is still loving, laughing and determined to keep skating.

"I’ll keep skating and loving my wonderful life for as long as the crazy bitch cancer allows me to. I hope they find a cure for stage IV cancer and through this breakfast I have thrown some efforts into supporting research to find a cure for ‘incurable cancer’" 💖

It is not too late to donate. Please find the link below and donate to make a real difference for Australians affected by breast cancer.
