Last week we held our annual Gulgong Open. It was a great success, with players coming from all across the central west. A big thank you to all the volunteers who got the course looking amazing and to the ladies who helped with the BBQ.
The winners on the day were:
A grade (decided with a playoff) between Darrel Cole and Dale Young, with Darrel taking the win
B grade winner was also decided with a play off between Glen McGrath and Ash Bullock, with Glen taking the win
B grade net winner was Jim Mitcherson
C grade was won by Ant Furney
Net winner was Alex Nicholson
The longest drives were
A grade Oden Osgood
B grade Glen McGrath
C grade Chris Hughes
Thanks again to everyone. It was a great success for the club.
Today was our annual match play grand final between Andrew Landorf and Scotty McDonnell. Andrew was crowned match play champion for 2025. Well done!!!

Attention all! On Sunday 22nd March we will be holding our annual Gulgong Men’s Open. We will be having A, B and C grades with the total prize pool of $1,200. It will be an 18 hole stroke event with registration from 8am. Shotgun start at 9am. There will be scratch prizes and net prizes for all grades. If you would like to make a weekend of it, we have a stableford event on Saturday 21st March.

We’re hosting a Charity Golf Day in support of the Never Late Fe-Mail Postie Bike Ride, and it’s set to be a cracker of a day.

$50pp, 4 person ambrose, fun games, BBQ, beer cart and lunch after.

All happening Saturday 28th February at Gulgong Golf Course.

Yesterday at the Gulgong Golf Club we played a stableford event. The nearest to the pins were won by
2nd: Mick ‘Woofa’ Woods
7th: Gavin Browning
9th: Dale ‘Bunga’ Young
Comp winners:
4th place: Gavin Browning
3rd place: Gordy McDonnell
2nd place: Chris Forrester
And 1st place was won by our newest female member Julieanne Furney, with an outstanding 43 points.
Julieanne is one of our few female members. We would encourage any females to join our popular club. Come down and have a go! You may just win the day aswell!

Good evening all. Just a quick update on the Australia Day long weekend. Saturday 24th January will be a stableford event for our members and guests. 26th January (Australia Day) will be our Australia Day Medal. This will consist of a 2 man Ambrose. Everyone is welcome whether you have a handicap or not. We will start the day with bacon and egg rolls and there will be a beer cart driving around to quench everyone’s thirst. Followed by a presentation at the golf club. The 27th January will be a normal comp day .

Tomorrow we play our annual Super Mug and Super Medal. Everyone throughout the 2025 year who has won either the Monthly Mug or Monthly Medal is eligible to win. For everyone else is it a normal stroke comp day.
The people eligible for the Super Mug are:

Today we held the final 3rd round in our Gulgong Club Championship.
A Grade winner was Scotty McDonnell
A Grade net winner was Chris Forrester
B Grade winner was Jim Mitcherson
B Grade net winner was Glen Thompson
C Grade winner was Gordy McDonnell
C Grade net winner was Dave McKinna
Congratulations to all our winners, it was a great competition.
The 3rd round was also a competition, the winner, with an outstanding net 60, was Chris Forrester. 2nd place Scotty McDonnell with a handy net 65. 3rd place Jim Mitcherson with a net 68. 4th place Gordy McDonnell with a net 70.
All 3 nearest to the pins were won by Scotty McDonnell.

Today we played a stableford event with the winner on a decent 37 points was Chris forester in a very close second was the one and only smiley with 36 points. Third today was Mitch Sheather on a count back to Scotty McDonnell with a respectable 34 points
