COOKING STEPS:
1. Cook the lo mein or spaghetti noodles according to the package and set aside.
2. Add the sliced beef to a large bowl and add Β½ tablespoon of neutral oil, garlic powder, onion powder, kosher salt (optional), black pepper, ΒΌ cup low sodium soy sauce, sesame oil, shaoxing wine or sherry, and 2 teaspoons of cornstarch. Cover with plastic wrap and set aside to marinate while you prep the veggies.
3. To a mixing cup or medium sized bowl whisk all of the sauce ingredients together and set aside (light brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, oyster sauce, low sodium chicken broth, and cornstarch).
4. Add about 1 tablespoon of neutral oil to a large skillet or wok over medium heat.
5. Add the beef in one single layer, sear the beef on both sides and cook to your desired doneness. You will need to work in batches so you donβt overcrowd your pan.
6. Once youβve cooked all of the beef, set aside and keep warm.
7. In the same pan, add a little more oil if needed and add in your veggies. The yellow onion, green onion, carrots and red pepper, and mushrooms. Cook until the onions are translucent. Add in the chopped garlic and continue sauteing until the garlic is fragrant (be careful not to burn the garlic).
8. Pour in your sauce, then toss in your cooked spaghetti or lo mein noodles. Add cooked beef and combine.
9. Garnish with green onion and sesame seeds. Enjoy!
