If you are a Physiotherapist or Dietitian looking for an additional venue to operate through, we have limited availabilities at our facilities in Grovedale. The room is spacious and quiet with dimmable sensory lights and heating/cooling. We are a purpose built fitness facility with mixed exercise equipment for rehab and all-abilities exercise. There is a multitude of free all day parking directly outside the building and the premises is completely flat and accessible. 🏋️‍♀️Some interesting facts about why it's a great idea to keep moving and exercising, especially as we enter our golden years!

✨Keeping a regular exercise regime is important for maintaining and improving bone density, which can assist in the prevention of osteoporosis and fractures. Exercise is recognised as an effective tool in building a strong skeletal frame and maintaining bone strength as we age.
Some recommended types of exercises are;
Weight bearing impact loading, resistance training and balance training.

✨Balance and coordination exercises can help improve stability, strength and flexibility which assists in maintaining independence and quality of life. Most importantly, it helps prevent falls...which can be very serious in senior years.
Some great exercises for balance are;
Heel to toe walks, single-limb balance, marching on the spot....always practice these with support and safety first!!

✨ Heart health. As we age, our heart and blood vessels undergo changes that can increase risks of heart disease. Some great exercises to improve or maintain a healthy ticker are; brisk walking, resistance training and aerobic exercise.

✨Cognitive function can deteriorate in ageing so it's crucial to be proactive in exercise to assist in the prevention of dementia-related conditions and also depression. Exercise is proven to have a direct correlation in positive health outcomes in maintaining memory, mood regulation and optimal brain function.

✨As we add candles to our birthday cakes over the years, maintaining a healthy weight range can prove difficult...either underweight or overweight. Exercise in conjunction with a healthy eating plan is critical in keeping at a healthy weight level and helping to prevent chronic diseases and even disability from occurring.

☀️🏖With Summer well under way, it's crucial to remind ourselves to take the time to plan our hydration needs especially as our calendars begin to get busy again.

❗️Here's some fun facts about keeping hydrated with good quality H2O!...🫗
*Staying hydrated helps to regulate body temperature.
*Water is crucial for healthy digestion and helping avoid constipation.
*Water may assist in weight management, creating a sense of fullness and satiation.
*Drinking water enhances physical performance. Proper hydration is essential for peak performance during exercise and outdoor activities.
*Dehydration increases the risks of kidney stones. Satying properly hydrated may assist in decreasing the risks of kidney stone formation.
*Fewer headaches! Staying sufficiently hydrated in conjunction with being around fresh airy spaces may help reduce headaches and headache symptoms.

💖 A huge THANK YOU!!! to all who shared to our annual collection for the Give Where You Live Christmas Appeal.
It really means so much when a community can come together to ensure others aren't going without. While some in the community live with abundance, it really captures the true essence of human spirit to share what you can...whether it's one packet of Weet Bix or a whole bag of goodies, it all makes an ENORMOUS difference to the grand total that gets shared around the community. We're are so humbled by our members generous hearts and so proud to play our part in the Appeal. Our members are truly the best of our local community and the pictures don't do justice to how much food was so generously shared.
