Wow, we’ve made it to the end of the season, and what a season it has been! This week, the team headed west up the mountains to Faulconbridge to take on the Blue Mountains Kangaroos. The rain accompanied us for most of the journey, but as we arrived, the clouds began to clear and the sun even managed to peek through. Our Under 9 Goannas faced a tough challenge in the first two quarters, but they showed incredible determination and resilience. In the second half, they matched the Kangaroos’ intensity and effort, with a few goals to reward the teamwork across the park. This week, every player demonstrated outstanding defence, attack, teamwork, patience and persistence. The way the Goannas played today is something they should all be incredibly proud of. Ally left the ground with a huge smile from ear to ear, reflecting on just how much every player has grown throughout the season under her leadership. The improvement, confidence and team spirit shown by this group have been fantastic to watch. It’s been a huge first season for the entire team, and with one more challenge ahead at our first Gala Day next week, we can’t wait to see what they can achieve. Bring it on, Goannas! 💙💛🦎

Round 15 and the last game of regular season sees our Little Legends have a sleep in as our opponents, unfortunately unable to field a team, forfeited against us. But by true Goey fashion, our team held a team bonding training session followed by “good luck” sausages in preparation for our Qualifying Final next weekend.

What a way to finish our season. We jumped out of the blocks hard and fast and ambushed the bloodhounds to take a 19 point lead at quarter time. The 2nd quarter was much of the same but the Bloodhounds fought back with the scores 37-20 at the half. The 3rd saw the Goannas put the screws into the bloodhounds going into the final change 64-26 up.The last quarter was a back and forth affair with the Goannas running out winners 73-40. A great way to finish the season in style
