Hey Kenpo Freestylers, we are up and running on our online Zoom classes. Our first class is tomorrow morning. Please go on to https://ikarate.com.au/ to sign up. Our instructors need your support to get through this difficult time, and we appreciate your help in getting this club through to the other side. The classes are lots of fun and will help the kids burn off all that excess energy during lockdown. Also, in progressing with their belt levels and not losing any momentum toward their goals. Look for your usual instructor from the choices offered on the website. There will also be detailed instructions going out. We are looking forward to seeing you online!

We had to make the decision today to close all of our schools effective tomorrow at noon. Although the public schools remain open, and it was our intention to tether our classes to them, it became clear after the Prime Minster’s announcement today that we would not be able to continue.

Despite all the safety measures we put in place, it becomes necessary to cease operations indefinitely to fall in compliance with the law and to protect the health and safety of our students. This is a very sad day for our Kenpo tribe and especially our great instructors, everyone will suffer. This is extremely disappointing to us, just as it has been for you and your children.

We hope this situation is under control soon and we can resume as quickly as possible. We will give all students credit for their classes attended this term for their grading qualification when we resume.

Thanks so much for your support and understanding. We are committed to coming back stronger than ever and making our classes even better in the future. Stay posted by following our page and our Blog on our website at www.karate-kids.com.au.

Important notice to all students: we start a new ten-week term this Friday. Any students who have visited the Wuhan area of China in the last few months must wait two weeks from the time they entered Australia to participate in our classes. This is for the safety of our students, parents, and instructors. Sorry for the inconvenience.

BERESFORD ROAD PUBLIC SCHOOL have been able to accommodate us on Saturday mornings in there hall while construction is going on at greystanes. They recently found asbestos and are going to be handling and clearing it on weekends which is why we have had to make the sudden change of location.

Class times are all as normal and you can access the car park into the school via BERESFORD ROAD.

Please pass this message on and I will do my best to contact all parents via text message.

Best regards

Many of our Greystanes students competed over the weekend at the Winter Nationals. Great job team!

Unplaced on the day, but still earning points to take us to 3rd place:- Eva Attard, Angus Byrne, Mia Moore, Whyte O’Brien, Bradley Meadows, and myself. Most of our place getters also entered events where they were unplaced, but still gained those very important “tournament” points for themselves and the Club.

Thank you to our Team Captain Tayla Meath for keeping everyone on their toes, and my daughter Tracey Hooper for the Team photograph and collecting the Team Statistics for our Club records. Thank also you to Daniel Jancek for finding time to assist with some Judging while he wasn’t giving guidance to our members attending their 1st Karate Tournament.

Thank you to all our supporters for your encouragement during the day, especially Sarah Pasfield and Calea Segon (both Black Belts) who didn’t compete on the day but came along to support their friends.

Well done Kenpo Freestylers, and thank you also to Tournament Promoter Ross Jackson for making us all welcome.

(NOTE: Missing from the competitors photo were Shauun, James, Sanish, Victoria and myself).
