We’re officially **ONE MONTH AWAY** from the **2026 MPS Area Short Course Development Carnival** in Blayney!

📅 **Sunday 27 September 2026**
📍 CentrePoint Sport and Leisure Centre, Blayney
⏰ Warm-up: **9:30am** | Racing: **10:30am**

This is a great opportunity for developing swimmers from across the Mountains & Plains region to get behind the blocks, build racing experience and chase some new PBs! 💪

There are events for a wide range of swimmers, including:

🔹 25m beginner events
🔹 50m & 100m events across all strokes
🔹 200m events
🔹 Individual Medley events
🔹 400m Freestyle & 400m IM
🔹 Multi-Class events
🏅 Medals across eligible events and age groups

💰 **$7 per event**
🏊 Maximum **5 events per swimmer**

It’s time to get racing! 🔥

Mountains & Plains Swimming is excited to welcome swimmers to the **2026 MPS Area Short Course Development Carnival** at Blayney.

📅 **Sunday 27 September 2026**

🏊 25m Short Course Pool
⏰ Warm-up: **9:30am**
🏁 Racing starts: **10:30am**

This carnival is a fantastic opportunity for developing swimmers to gain racing experience, chase some new PBs and represent their club in a friendly regional competition.

There really is something for everyone, with:

🔹 **25m beginner events**
🔹 50m and 100m events across all strokes
🔹 200m events
🔹 400m Freestyle and Individual Medley
🔹 Individual Medley events
🔹 **Multi-Class events**
🏅 Medals across eligible age groups and events

💰 **Entries are $7 per event**
🏊 Maximum of **5 events per swimmer**
📲 Entries are through **Swim Central**

🚨 **ENTRIES CLOSE MIDNIGHT FRIDAY 18 SEPTEMBER**

**Important:** Entries may close earlier if the meet reaches its entry limit, so we strongly recommend getting your entries in early.

For 50m and 100m events, **break times apply rather than qualifying times**, while swimmers aged 9+ can enter the 200m events without qualifying times. Specific qualifying requirements apply to the 400m events.

Whether you're relatively new to competition or looking for another opportunity to race and improve, we'd love to see you in Blayney!

2027 Carlile Foundation Country Regional Championships – Host Venues Announced! 🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️

Swimming NSW is excited to announce the host locations for the 2027 Carlile Foundation Country Regional Championships:

📍 Lismore – Lismore Memorial Baths
📍 Orange – Orange Aquatic Centre
📍 Wollongong – Western Suburbs Pool

We are looking forward to bringing these championships to regional communities, creating more opportunities for swimmers to participate, compete and connect close to home.

With the support of the Carlile Foundation, these events continue to strengthen pathways for regional athletes while celebrating the passion and talent that exists across country New South Wales.

We can't wait to see swimmers, coaches, officials, volunteers and supporters come together for another exciting year of racing in 2027.

🏊‍♂️ SWIMMING NSW DEVELOPMENT CLINICS ARE COMING! 🏊‍♀️
Swimming NSW Development Clinics are a fantastic opportunity for swimmers to refine their technique, build confidence, and continue progressing in a supportive, non-competitive environment.
These clinics are open to eligible swimmers aged 9–11 years and 12–18 years, with registrations completed through Swim Central. Places are limited, so families are encouraged to read the clinic details carefully and register early.

🏊‍♀️ **2026–27 JX QUALIFYING TIMES RELEASED!** 🏊‍♂️

The new **2026–27 JX Qualifying Times** are now available, giving our junior swimmers fresh targets to work towards throughout the season.

The JX Program recognises swimmer achievement across four levels:

🥇 Gold
🥈 Silver
🥉 Bronze
🔵 Blue

Swimmers are automatically recognised through **Swim Central** when they achieve the required times at approved meets.

There is also exciting news for regional swimmers, with Swimming NSW planning **four JX development clinics before the end of March 2027** — and up to **three clinics expected to be held in regional NSW**.

This stronger regional focus is a positive opportunity for young swimmers across the Mountains and Plains area to access quality development experiences closer to home.
