We are pleased to announce the re-signing of Nevmin Hewage for the upcoming season.⁣
⁣
A reliable left-arm off spinner, Nev was at his best last season, highlighted by outstanding figures of 4/21 in C Grade and 2/8 in the Summer Smash. ⁣
⁣
Nev has been knocking on the door of First XI selection for some time and has a real hunger to return to playing ones cricket for the GCC. ⁣
⁣
We’re excited to see what he can achieve this season and look forward to having him back in green and white. 💚🤍

We are thrilled to announce the re-signing of club favourite Steve ‘Chippa’ Valenti for the upcoming season.⁣
⁣
A respected leader around the club, Chippa embodies the team-first mentality that makes our club so strong. Renowned for having some of the safest hands in the competition, his experience, commitment and willingness to put the team first make him an invaluable part of the Boro.⁣

We’re excited to have Chippa locked in for another year and look forward to seeing him out on the field again this season. 💚🤍⁣

We are excited to announce the signing of Dyan Perera for the upcoming season.⁣
⁣
After playing with Boro last season in the lower grades, Dyan was a standout performer, amassing almost 600 runs, including a brilliant high score of 192.⁣
⁣
With his sights now set on playing higher, Dyan has committed to our 1st XI squad for next season. His talent and dedication are clear to see, and we are looking forward to watching him take the next step in his cricket journey. 💚🤍⁣

A key member of our First XI bowling attack, Bowds brings pace, determination and plenty of passion every time he takes the field. His commitment to the club and willingness to lead from the front make him a valuable part of the GCC.⁣

Teddy has made the tough decision to step down as President of Greensborough Cricket Club. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Teddy’s impact spans decades — with 7 years as president and more than 20 years on the Executive Committee. His dedication to the club has been unwavering, always giving his time to help the club grow both on and off the field.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
A Premiership Captain, junior coach, committee member, mentor and passionate clubman, Teddy has worn many hats throughout his time at the GCC. Many will also remember the famous Boro Whispers — the fortnightly publication Teddy put together featuring results, match summaries and all the happenings around the club.⁣
⁣
The countless hours, commitment and passion Teddy has poured into the club over the years will never be forgotten. People like Teddy are the backbone of community sport, the GCC is better because of everything he has given.⁣⁣

We are proud to announce the signing of Trent Groom and re-signing of Mat Salvatore for the upcoming season. 💚🤍⁣
⁣
Trent brings a wealth of First XI experience to the club as an aggressive opening batter and accurate bowler, with plenty of runs and wickets under his belt from his time at Montmorency and Mill Park. After a year away from the game, Trent is refreshed, rejuvenated and ready to perform. We can’t wait to see Trent in action this season!⁣

We’re also thrilled to have Salva recommit to the club after stepping away from the coaching role, while continuing to lead our First XI. A favourite among the Boro faithful, Salva is a powerful and reliable batter who can also deliver crucial wickets with the ball. We can’t wait to see Salva back at his best! ⁣
