Join us for a fantastic day of basketball, family fun and community as we get ready for the Spring season.

Whether you’re a returning Shark or thinking about joining our club, this is the perfect opportunity to meet the team, develop your skills and have some fun on the court.

St Mary’s Sharks is on the lookout for Age Group Coordinators to help support our players, coaches and families.

No basketball expertise required – just a willingness to help and be part of an amazing club community.

The best part? You won’t be doing it alone. Our coordinators are fully supported by the Committee and fellow volunteers every step of the way. We provide guidance, resources and support to help you succeed in the role.

It’s a fantastic way to get involved, meet great people, make a real difference, and help ensure our players have the best possible experience throughout the season.

💜 FINAL DAY - FOR THE KIDS 💜

Today is my final day of the Children’s Starlight Foundation Super Steps Challenge!

Over the past month I’ve walked, run and stepped my way to:

👟 473,278 steps💰 $753 raised

I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported this journey, especially our amazing Sharks family. Your generosity, encouragement and donations have helped make a real difference for seriously ill children and their families.

As a basketball community, we’re fortunate to watch our kids get out on court, play with their friends, stay active and simply enjoy being kids. Sadly, many children facing serious illness don’t have those same opportunities.

That’s why Starlight’s work is so important. They bring fun, laughter, hope and happiness to children during some of the toughest times of their lives.

If you’ve been thinking about donating, today is your last chance to help me finish strong. Every dollar, no matter how small, helps brighten the lives of kids who need it most.

Thank you again to every single person who has donated, shared, encouraged and cheered me on throughout this challenge. I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved together. 💜🦈

As National Volunteer Week comes to an end, we want to take a moment to recognise and sincerely thank every single volunteer who helps make the St Mary’s Sharks such a special community. 🦈💙

Community sport simply does not exist without volunteers. Behind every training session, game day, fundraiser, event, uniform, team selection, scoreboard duty and committee meeting are people generously giving up their time to help our players and families have the best possible experience.

To our coaches, assistant coaches, team managers, committee members, scorebench helpers, parents, carers and supporters — thank you. Your dedication, patience, energy and passion do not go unnoticed.

Many of our volunteers juggle full-time jobs, family commitments and busy schedules, yet still continue to show up week after week for our club and our kids. The impact you have reaches far beyond basketball. You help build confidence, friendships, teamwork, resilience and a strong sense of belonging within our community.

The Sharks are more than just a basketball club — we are a family, and that family is built on the incredible efforts of volunteers.

Thank you for the early mornings, late nights, endless emails, washing uniforms, organising teams, cheering from the sidelines and stepping in wherever needed. Every role matters, and every contribution makes a difference.

We are truly grateful for everything you do for our players, our families and our club.
