🐴 Tuesday Topic: Sand & Your Horse β€” What You Need To Know 🏜️

Living on sandy properties can come with its challenges, and one thing we often need to keep an eye on is sand intake.

Horses can accidentally swallow sand while grazing, picking up feed from the ground, or eating hay in sandy areas. Over time, sand can build up in the digestive tract and may contribute to discomfort, poor manure quality and colic issues.

✨ Ways to help reduce the risk:
🐴 Feed hay from a feeder or tub instead of directly on the ground
🐴 Avoid feeding meals on bare sand where possible
🐴 Encourage plenty of fibre intake
🐴 Keep an eye on manure and any changes in your horse’s behaviour

Small management changes can make a big difference to keeping our horses happy and healthy πŸ’›

Have you checked your horse’s sand exposure lately? πŸ‘‡

🌟 Member Monday 🌟

This week's Member Monday spotlight is on one of the driving forces behind PRAC, Nicole McGinty!

Nicole serves as our dedicated Club Secretary and is the owner of Culmvale Park, a business that has been a major supporter and sponsor of PRAC for many years. Her ongoing generosity and commitment have played a significant role in helping our club grow and thrive.

Whether she's behind the scenes keeping the club running smoothly, lending a hand at our shows, or supporting our fundraising efforts, Nicole is always willing to step up when needed. You'll often find her helping competitors, organising events, and ensuring everything runs like clockwork.

One of Nicole's greatest strengths is her encouragement of both new and experienced members. She is always willing to share her knowledge, offer support, and cheer people on as they progress through their equestrian journey. Her welcoming nature helps make PRAC the friendly and supportive club that it is today.

On behalf of the committee and members, thank you, Nicole, for your countless hours of hard work, dedication, and unwavering support of PRAC. We are incredibly grateful to have you as part of our club family.

🐴❀️ Thank you, Nicole, and thank you to Culmvale Park for your continued support of PRAC! ❀️🐴
