3 tap to whip and 3 tap to bar from the other night 😁 pleased to get them done again!
I have a coaching technique that I used while working on these tricks that applies specifically to overcoming and mastering fear, so if you're interested in learning more about how I train myself, please read on!

Let me tell you a story about that 3 tap to bar. Barspins have always been a struggle trick for me, specifically out of things, like taps or whips. That 3 tap to bar took probably twice as long to through as the 3 tap to whip despite it being a vastly easier trick.
That's because this is a battle of the mind. Our fears can make or break us and the amount of power the fear holds over us will determine whether we land a trick or crash it, persist or give up.
It is up to you to determine whether you are able to push past a fear to try something, or if it is too big to face in the moment. There is absolutely no shame in giving up for a night if the trick is too overwhelming, because if you keep trying, there's every chance you will crash and hurt yourself.
However, if you decide to continue, you must be willing to give your 100% because it's in the grey area of half efforts where the most injuries happen.
So if you're stuck in fear but want to push through, here's what I did to get that 3 tap to bar done.
1. I put myself in a place of peace. I calm myself. Fight or flight will not help me here and it will make be freeze up, so I focused on calming down and narrowing my focus onto exactly the part that scares me. The barspin.
2. I reassure my body it is capable of doing this. I actually talk to it like it's one of my students 😂 it sounds crazy, but trust me when I say it works.
"You got this, you're a good enough rider."
"You're OK, you be done it before, you can do it again."
"Trust Jesus, He will get you through it."
Things like that.
3. I set up a 'checkpoint' to give me a boost before the attempt. A checkpoint is an easy trick during set up to help my confidence. It could be an air, tail tap, disaster or anything like that. I make it feel perfect to help my confidence with the attempt. Look good, feel good, perform good.
4. Over all this, I pray. If you didn't already pick it up, I'm Christian and pray before every drop in, "Jesus protect me." It is incredible how much confidence this gives me knowing God Himself is watching my back. One such verse that really helps me is this:
Isaiah 41:13
For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, do not fear; I will help you.
I really hope this helps!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
