Many of our members, guests, staff, and community partners know David McBey through his role as General Manager of Middle Green and his long-standing commitment to our club and community.

At this difficult time, a GoFundMe page has been established to support David's family. We understand that many people have asked how they can help, and this provides an opportunity for those who wish to offer their support.

The Raiders spirit has always been about showing up for one another, on and off the field.

Dave was the perfect example of that. Over the years, he quietly supported so many fundraisers, backed local families, and did whatever he could for our rugby league community. He was always there when people needed him.

Now it’s our turn to show that same support for his family.

💚 In Loving Memory of Dave 💚

We invite all who knew and loved Dave to join us in celebrating his life as we come together to honour his memory, share stories, and reflect on the impact he had on so many people.

As we gather to remember Dave, we kindly ask for your patience and understanding with our staff throughout the day on Friday the 26th June 2026. Many of them are grieving the loss of a dear friend and colleague, and while they will do their best to support everyone attending, this will be an emotional day for them as well.

Thank you to everyone for your love, support, and kindness. Please continue to keep Dave’s family, friends, and our Greenbank community in your thoughts as we remember a truly special person.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David McBey, the heart and soul of Middle Green Sports.

David dedicated his life to creating a place where people from all walks of the community could come together, connect, and enjoy the spirit of sport and friendship. Throughout his journey, he met countless people who became not only friends but, in many cases, family.

He built strong and lasting connections within the Greenbank community and touched the lives of so many in different and meaningful ways. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to others left a lasting impact that will never be forgotten.

David was truly one of a kind. He will be deeply missed and forever loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Our thoughts and condolences are with his family, friends, and all those whose lives he enriched.

Rest in peace, David.
